During the war of 1992 – 1995, with the Museum being on the front line, in the besieged Sarajevo all the buildings suffered some level destruction. The Prehistoric wing of the Archeology Department was the most damaged therefore it took almost 30 years to reopen it. Around 3,000 finds have been selected to represent a chronological insight into the development of cultures of prehistoric periods.
