Great cooking class in a beautiful environment! - Great experience! Our 8 year old was right in there, making the dishes along side us. Roger was an excellent teacher and as our group was small (just our family), I really enjoyed talking to him about food, cooking, and life in Chiang Mai.

The Best Experience! Thank you Natalie - It's been over three months since we visited Grandma's Cooking School, but I felt the need to leave a review because we really enjoyed this tour. It's super fun, the food is delicious, and you learn so much about Thai cooking. I also mostly came here to shout out my girl Natalie because I am still constantly referencing what Miss Natalie taught me. She made the tour! super funny, informative, and welcoming, and really felt like she enjoyed what she was doing. Thank you for the amazing experience, Natalie.

Compliments to the chef - Grandma’s Home Cooking School was one of the highlights of my time in Chiang Mai. From start to finish, the experience was fun, relaxed, and extremely well organised. The team were warm, welcoming, and full of energy, making everyone feel comfortable regardless of cooking experience. Instead of a market visit, we enjoyed a guided tour of the beautiful vegetable garden, where we learned about the fresh herbs, vegetables, and ingredients used in Thai cooking. It was a lovely, peaceful way to begin the class and made the whole experience feel very authentic. The cooking class itself was hands-on, easy to follow, and thoroughly enjoyable. Each step was clearly explained, with plenty of guidance throughout. The food we cooked was absolutely delicious, fresh, full of flavour, and very generous in portion size. It was incredibly satisfying to prepare multiple traditional Thai dishes ourselves. What really makes this place special is the atmosphere. It truly feels like cooking in a Thai family home rather than a tourist activity. The kindness, humour, and passion of the staff make the experience unforgettable. I would highly recommend Grandma’s Home Cooking School to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. A wonderful way to learn, eat well, and experience real Thai culture.

A+ would highly recommend - Amazing experience. We did the Northern Thai cooking class. Different foods we would never have tried or made. Thai food is more than Pad Thai and we got to see it firsthand. We cooked over charcoal grills, made curry paste from scratch, and ended up making five very tasty dishes and then a quick dessert. Kiki was our guide and she explained everything clearly and was easy to follow. This place is so well organized from pickup to the cooking to the drop off. Also the grounds are beautiful and it’s really a pleasure to be there. Nice getaway.

Good for couples but not so much for younger children - We attended as a family but was really set up for individuals with each person cooking their own food. Would have been better to work together as a couple/family. We also were requested to change into their uniform but it was so incredibly hot and when you are sitting next to a coal fire was too much. Food was good and instruction was helpful. Market and garden too was quite small and very crowded with other tours.
