- Turtle Beach - The adventure begins at the Turtle Beach Boat Launch. Participants will paddle through the intercoastal waters of Sarasota Bay, an ideal spot to familiarize themselves with the equipment and potentially observe manatees, especially during the spring and summer. The journey continues through a canal leading to the mangrove islands of the Jim Neville Preserve. Keep an eye out for stunning shore and seabirds along the route. With fish leaping around, the aim is to spot dolphins and manatees that come to the area to feed. Watch for ospreys, bald eagles, and cormorants, all of which are often seen hunting for fish. As the tour winds through the mangrove islands and tunnels, it heads towards the tour’s highlight. Participants will pull their boats ashore and explore over the sand dunes to a serene and secluded beach. This is a perfect spot to stretch, swim in the clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico, or search for shells.
The youth rate applies to children 10 years old and under. Young paddlers will share a tandem kayak with an adult.

Located only a few miles from the main Siesta Key beach, Turtle Beach is easily accessible via the Sarasota County trolley, which conveniently drops visitors off right at the site. This area is not only stunning and serene, but it also offers fantastic opportunities for paddling!
The adventure begins on the intercoastal waterway, paddling down a brief canal to reach the Bay. Paddlers can explore the mangrove islands, navigate through a couple of mangrove tunnels, and glide alongside a bird rookery.
The journey continues around the mangrove islands of Jim Neville Marine Preserve, leading to a “secret” beach. Accessible only by boat, this secluded spot often offers a private retreat, perfect for a refreshing swim or a peaceful pause. It’s so inviting, one might be tempted to linger all day.
This area is a haven for diverse wildlife, including manatees (when the water is warm enough), dolphins, stunning sea and shorebirds, and an abundance of fish.
