A great adventure & great wildlife - The trip was great! We explored Mangrove tunnels - some newly formed, along with sandy berms - from the recent hurricane Milton. Th hurricane damage was sad to see, but we live in nature and are it reminds us what it can do sometimes. There's a lot of damage, as our guide showed and explained to us. I hope the people effected, including him, are able to make things right again. The Mangrove tunnels were fun and challenging. With a tandem kayak, turning around in tight spots was a good chance to brush up on my 50-point turns! (no, not that bad, only 10 turn!). We saw lots of pelicans, egrets, cormorants, and other birds I've forgotten the name for. Perfect day, perfect weather.

Great tour! - Great tour for novice or experienced paddlers. Lots of info about the nature preserve and the history of Sarasota. Easy to paddle. Shallow water for most of the trip. Bird life abundant.

Mangrove tunnels are amazing by kayak - Just the 2 of us with Stefan and had a marvelous time observing the birds and other inhabitants of the mangrove tunnels of Sarasota Bay. Who knew there were tree crabs! Learned so much about the development of this area - Bertha Palmer & John RIngling.

This was our 5th or 6th kayak tour and we brought friends new to the area w/us. We had a great time! - Stephan was a fantastic guide teaching us about John and Mable Ringling’s impact on the area along w/stories about Owen Burns and Louis Van Wezel’s impact. The explanation of the importance of the mangroves was also informative and much appreciated.

Immersed in Sarasota Nature - Tunnels are amazing. There was quite a north wind in the open water but with the full sunshine, I was just right in shorts, long sleeves and a vest. You will get water drops on you from the paddles, so plan accordingly. It was a beautiful experience. Unfortunately there were 4 first-time kayakers in 2 tandem kayaks who needed more instruction. The mangroves are very narrow right now from the hurricanes, and very curvy. They really struggled to keep their kayaks going straight. Banged into others, hit the mangrove banks over and over, ended up backwards a few times. In fact, they held our group up a lot and we spent at least 20 minutes of our 2 hours waiting for them.
