This experience explains the distilling process at Sarina Sugar Shed, from the crushing of the cane to distilled cane spirit that creates our rum and liqueurs.
Tasting includes an exclusive selection of Rum or Rum liqueurs not available on our regular tour.
Running daily at 12pm, enjoy this tour on its own, or packaged with our 11am or 12.30pm Sugar Shed tour for the complete experience!
This is a great experience for dedicated rum lovers or those interested in finding out more about the rum distilling process from sugar cane juice to the finished product!

Awesome tour - Our guide Carla was very well versed in the history and the production of sugar that we see today. The tour was very informative and with a bit of fun thrown in.

Great time. - Awesome experience, learned a lot about rum and how it’s made . Great to have a try . Lots of laughter during our tour, always a plus on holidays.

Amazing must do while in Mackay - Lady in the tasting room was amazing and the tasting plate was great value. Would definitely be buying more online after buying 3 varieties of liqueurs. Cant wait to get home to share them

Yum, visit - Awesome few hours, super interesting and loads of wonderful samples. Amazing staff, Desley, Ange and Betty all showed us a fabulous time. Highly recommend.

Small setup but very interesting tour - This is a small setup, but that makes for a great tour. The process is explained in detail and also some of the history is shared. After the tour some tasting takes place. Not just about the rum, but also some of the sauces that have been made. For the kids (and adults) there is also cotton candy available.

Sugar Shed Tour - Absolutely great tour. Guide was more than happy to answer any questions and her knowledge base was outstanding.
Disappointing that we did not see how their rum was made however, that did not distract from the overall tour.
The tasting at the end was great as we were able to purchase the items we tasted and enjoyed.
So, when you get down here, stick this tour on your itinerary.

Distilling rum at its finest - Information received on rum distilling was interesting. Tasting was ok till we got to the final product the tasting the final products was amazing. Shame there was no product for sale.

Good accessibility for seniors - Took Mum on a tour for Mother's Day. She's not very mobile, but found the experience to be low-key enough for her to handle. The staff were very accommodating and offered chairs at the different locations. Not very much walking. Interesting presentations and VERY tasty samples!
