Highlights
  • 44 Kate Yaeger Rd - Guests will gather at the horse barn as a starting point. The tour is private with a maximum of 6 people to ensure that all individuals get quality time with our beloved animals and none of the animals feel overwhelmed.

Once everyone has arrived and a few simple guidelines have been shared, we will enter the horse pasture where Osa and Neo will be waiting for us to give them pets while learning about their stories, the care they recieve, Osa’s transition to partial blindness, and answering any questions folks have about horses. From the horses, we will head down the hill to see our four miniature donkeys who LOVE attention and butt scratches. Guests can take photos at any time but this is a particularly good opportunity!

Next we meet our friendly pigs who are always in search of treats, and our emus who will also get a sweet snack which guests can feed by hand. There are also rescue ducks and geese to admire from afar. Finally, we will meet our adorable rescue goats where guests will be introduced and will get to pet them and give them the love they deserve. See you soon at Napping House Farm!

What's Included
  • The emu’s favorite healthy snack
Additional Information

Welcome to our family-run animal sanctuary in the Catskills, just a 13-minute drive from Woodstock and Saugerties. Join us as we share the incredible stories of our rescued animals, delve into their unique personalities, and forge real connections with these sweet creatures. This tour is fun for all involved: from the visitors to the guides who love their job to the animals who love the opportunity to meet new people. For all animals, this looks different. The donkeys will happily accept pets and cuddles while the emus will cautiously but enthusiastically eat from your hand. Our philosophy? We let our animals set the pace - if they want pets, we give them pets, if they need space, we give them space. Lucky for us, they usually want pets! This activity is beautiful and heartwarming in all weather and provides many opportunities for adorable photos. By the end, guests will feel connected to nature and inspired by some truly amazing stories. Tour fees go directly to our animals.

Wonderful afternoon connecting with rescued farm animals - Really wonderful tour of the farm, with interesting information on the rescued animals. It was amazing for our family of 4 to connect with the animals and learn more about what it takes to run the farm. We walked across the farm and met the horses, pigs, donkeys, emus and waterfowl. Owners were incredibly kind, and we learned about their journey as farmers. Can't wait to visit another time!

Do pigs play video games? - An amazing experience meeting and learning about animals in a way that’s respects the animals and makes learning for children ( and adults) fun, exciting and hands on. Very friendly and patient ( with our kids’ endless questions) owners and gorgeous grounds .

Fantastic Animal Experience - Our son picked out and booked this trip to a family farm full of rescued animals, and we could not have loved it more. This was such a special experience and it was so cool to get Interact one on one with these amazing animals. The tour ended with a gift of eggs from they are very beautiful chickens. So sweet!! It was incredibly compelling to see how animals rescued from our harmful food systems can thrive when given the chance! we laughed even more motivated to adopt our own rescued farm animals.

Very Cute - This was really neat and the kids enjoyed it. Jake did a great job of explaining how all of the animals came to be with them and how they were rescued. The animals were all friendly and well taken care of. Hopefully, these tours can support the great work they are doing to give these animals a good home.
