Additional Information

Flavors Food Tours is Savannah’s premier food tour experience, serving fresh local cuisine with an emphasis on Southern regional flavors in a small tour atmosphere. This adult-only tour is boutique and intimate, essentially dining with a friendly local who is going to show you around town.

Our food tour menu is both Southern and “of the sea,” highlighting Lowcountry staples such as stone-ground Shrimp n Grits and farm-to-table oysters hand-picked off the Eastern coast. When it comes to seafood, fresh is best. Wash it all down with a drink from Georgia’s most famed and award-winning English Pub, the Six Pence & you’ll understand Southern Charm.

In between bites & sips at multiple tasting spots your fun guide will share the authentic side of Georgia’s oldest city: its quirky personality, rich cuisine & interesting history.

You’ll leave with context and the behind the scenes story as to why we eat what we do. Join us and say “I ate my way through Savannah” with Flavors Food Tours.

Absolute must! - Started off at Madison Square with our tour guides Leslie and Cathy. Both were enthusiastic and very knowledgable about history and locations. Our food tour included amazing, perfectly-cooked shrimp and grits at the lovely Gryphon Tea Room. The room was very old artsy with chandeliers, books, nooks and ladies with fascinators having tea. Next, we headed to the Six Pence Pub which is one of the oldest British pubs authentic with flags, art work and a framed photo of King Charles. We were served either a beer or wine and bangers and mash and crabcakes. Next up was Husk Restaurant. Reconstructed after a fire -- this boujee restaurant had several floors and was gorgeous. All food was local farmers and menu was daily based on such. We had oysters which were incredible -- possibly the best raw ones I've tasted. They were served on an ice tray with lemon, sauce and a bottle dropper with infused-oil ingredients. They were wonderful. We then had pimento cheese served with homemade flat-seeded crackers. The combinations were perfectly paired and delicious. We ordered a Pinkie Swear cocktail which was decorated with a flower cluster and was delicious. We continued our journey to River Street Sweets for a praline and ended at the famous Leopold's ice cream parlor. It was a rainy day but that never stopped us from moving along, learning the history, visiting many of the 22 Savannah squares and enjoying our tour with 4 other tourists. Our tour guides were funny and interactive. It was a wonderful experience! @flavorsfoodtours #southerntraditionsdinnertour

Southern Sampling Done Well - Our guide Leslie was absolutely tremendous! Not only did she take us to some very good spots to sample southern food, she was very knowledgeable about Savannah and Georgia overall. We felt well informed and very gratified for having taken this tour. Highly recommended.

Savannah History and Southern Food? Excellent! - Our guide Leslie was terrific. She did a great job of mixing Savannah history and culinary knowledge. Each of the stops were interesting and a great part of the experience. We were full but not stuffed at the end of the evening. Highly recommended for a nicely paced and informative experience in Savannah.

Food with Leslie is the bomb! - Leslie was awesome and the food was amazing. Leslie gave us a lot of history on Savannah which was really great. My mom went with my sister and so when I came down 2 weeks later my mom and I took the tour. Even though my mom was just on the same exact tour, she had a great time again. really fun and I highly recommend it.

Great Choice for Savannah Food Experience - The Southern Traditions Dinner Tour was the highlight of my daughter and my weekend visit to Savannah. Leslie had obviously done her research on both the culinary offerings and the history of Savannah. She was friendly and engaging as she led our small intimate tour through the historical areas. The restaurants were carefully chosen and food was delicious. Unlike some other food tours we have been on, these restaurants were thoughtfully selected both for quality of food and for what they could contribute to our Savannah experience. Due to Leslie’s careful preparation and friendly personality we were warmly welcomed at each location (even upscale restaurants in high demand!) Leslie took photos of our group at each spot. Receiving the thank you email from her following our tour, including photos, was another thoughtful detail. This is a small company. Leslie has recently added this food tour in Savannah, her family’s hometown, to existing tours in Puerto Rico and San Thomas. Her passion for this endeavor, as well as her attention to detail and love of local cuisine definitely shows.

Loved it! - Leslie was a great host, giving the group a wonderful history of Savannah with 5 delicious food stops. You won’t be hungry at the end. Price included one alcoholic beverage. One nice touch was that she took many pictures on her phone to send to us so we could fully enjoy the food and conversation.
