At Flavors Food Tours we not only explain the history of the city of Savannah, its culture and architecture, but we connect that history with the cuisine and libations iconic of the South and Lowcountry. You’d be surprised how much you can learn from a mouthful of Shrimp N Grits and Fried Green Tomatoes!

Our tours are small, personal and intimate. Sort of like calling up a friendly, knowledgeable local to show you around. Our lunch tour is filling (enough for a meal), visiting up to five foodie places with an alcoholic drink included in the price.

All our restaurant partners stand out as excellent examples of foods iconic to the South. Scoop up some atmosphere with our pillowy Beignets, famous Shrimp ‘n Grits & creamy, dreamy She-Crab Soup. Cap it off with a classic sit down dessert.

A Guaranteed Great Time - What an unbelievable tour. My wife and I were expecting really good food but received GREAT food. By the end of the tour we were both full. We were not expecting so much great history about Savannah. Our guide Cathy, a former history teacher, really shared her love of Savannah and interacted with everyone on the tour. This is a great food and history tour which we can not recommend enough. Next time we will be doing the dinner tour!

A Fun Afternoon - My husband and I just finished a wonderful food tour with Flavor Foods in Savannah. We started with beignets that were, honestly, better than any you'd get in Savannah. Then, we had shrimp and grits, pralines, she-crab soup, and ended with ice cream! YUM! In between the various "stops" our guide, Pam, gave us a brief history of Savannah as well as a glimpse into the history of specific foods and why these dishes are traditional "low country" foods. We'll definitely book the dinner tour the next time we come to Savannah.

Great experience - Such a fun tour - each restaurant offered unique southern dishes. Our host, Pamela, was very personable and gave us a good overview of each restaurant and square. Can’t think of a better way to start our visit.

Great lunch food tour - Leslie gave us a history and culinary tour. Delicious food and plenty of it. She makes the tour fun while still maintaining a professional stance. Can’t wait to return to Savannah and do the dinner tour.

lunch and history! - My husband and I had a wonderful lunch tour with True South. We visited five different spots and had a combination of substantial lunch-type food alternating with sweets. I assure you that you won't be hungry afterwards and will have had a good representation of southern food. Everything was delicious. I particularly enjoyed how Leslie not only talked about the food, but also wove in the history of Savannah.

Terrific introduction to Savannah - This tour far exceeded our expectations! Leslie the owner/tour guide was terrific in her thoughtfulness and planning of the full experience which included great history of Savannah as well as highlighting family-owned businesses with representative dishes! Perfect tour size as well allowing for interaction without be overwhelming and thoughtful breaks in walking to enjoy the many squares and layout of the city. Highly recommend!

Even if you are not a foodie, this tour is so much fun! - The tour was more than my friends and I expected, more history and food. The walking was very easy. Our tour guide, Leslie, was friendly and very knowledgeable. The food at every stop was delicious and plentiful. We walked away not wanting anything else to eat. It was a perfect way to spend time with friends!

Do not waste your time or money - I first want to say that do not waste your time on this tour. I am sorely disappointed with the outcome of this tour, and as an avid food tour taker, this is by far the worst tour we have ever been on. Our tour guide had zero to no knowledge of the city of Savanna as she was an avid New Yorker. Due to this, she tended to stereotype the people of the South to the point where everyone who was on the tour was very taken aback by her stereotypes. The tour guide proceeded to show how unprepared she was at each restaurant. Each order was vulgar to the wait staff, and no food was ready at each restaurant. The food was underwhelming and not typical of a food tour. My final note is about the lack of professionalism on the tour. Our tour guide commented about no place, including her, but she refused to tell each place that she also needed a seat. She commented on things that “Southern do” and declined to elaborate and finish stories. Finally, she pointed out a coffee shop that happened to be run by mentally challenged people. Then proceeded to say, "They are just retarded". It was, overall, a very disappointing tour. If you have a choice about a tour, I advise you not to go on this tour. It was very frustrating and, overall, a waste of time and money.
