- Nayarhat - Arrive at Nayarhat Bazar in Dhamrai by 10:30 a.m. Enjoy a 30-minute boat ride where you can observe the daily lives of Bangladeshi villagers living by the river. Next, we will visit the pottery village called Pal Para, where you can experience the traditional craft of pottery-making, a trade passed down through generations by the Kumar (potter) community. Unfortunately, this craft is dying out, and many potters now live in poor conditions and are leaving the trade. Bringing some chocolates to distribute among the village children would make them very happy.
- Sukanta’s Dhamrai Metal Crafts - We will then drive to Dhamrai to visit a metal crafts workshop where artisans create stunning statues and crockery using the lost-wax technique with bronze. This is an excellent place to buy brass souvenirs, as they make wonderful keepsakes.
- Nabinagar Upazila - After visiting the Dhamrai metal craft shop, we will drive to Nabinagar. Here, we will have lunch at a local restaurant, enjoying traditional local food.
- National Martyr’s Monument - On our way back to Dhaka, we will stop at the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar. This monument honors those who died in the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, which led to Bangladesh’s independence from Pakistan.
