After a brief introduction, the hike to Cerro del Mono begins. The round trip covers a distance of 8 km/5 miles. The journey starts on a path leading into the jungle, followed by a climb up a long hill and some rock climbing to reach the hilltop. The difficulty level is medium to moderate.
Throughout the tour, participants will learn about the local flora, fauna, and geography, as well as the culture, traditions, and history of Higuera Blanca and Sayulita. At the hilltop, there will be time to rest, take in the stunning views, and enjoy a small snack.
The descent follows the same path, with a stop at a station to meet “Don Pedro,” who will offer a fresh coconut. The tour then proceeds to “La Cocina de Mamá Toña,” a charming local restaurant serving delicious Mexican cuisine.
Finally, private transport will return participants to Sayulita. The entire experience lasts 4 hours and 30 minutes.

The adventure starts at the “Sayulita bus station,” where local transport will take participants to the town of Higuera Blanca in approximately 25 minutes. Following a brief introduction, the 8 km/5 mi hike will commence. The trek begins on a jungle trail, leading to a challenging climb and rock scramble to the summit, with a moderate difficulty level.
Upon reaching the summit, there will be time to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views. On the descent, a stop will be made to meet Don Pedro, who will offer a refreshing coconut. The journey continues to “La Casa de Mamá Toña,” a delightful restaurant in Higuera Blanca known for its delicious Mexican cuisine. A private shuttle will then return participants to Sayulita.
*For tours on Saturdays, after enjoying the coconut, the group will visit “Purillos Restaurant” in Sayulita, renowned for its traditional seafood dishes.
