Superb Day visit for all from Brussels - Really superb exhibition! Excellent atmospheric lights, sound and all round ambience. For Uk visitors, when compared to Swindon or York, this is definitely up there for both adults and children. Make sure you get the App loaded on a smartphone to listen to the commentaries - Erfgoedapp - it really helps. The exhibits and ability to get up close to it all is to be commended and makes a wonderful and worthwhile trip from Brussels - get a train from Brussels central to the centre (approx 10 mins & €2.50 each one way). Probably plan to take a snack with you as there wasn’t a cafe onsite when we went in Nov 24, but found a decent frites shop in the local area.

Excellent - Simply a lovely day out,nice staff nice museum, something for a ages and levels of intrest. Also very reasonable priced plus a nice restaurant attached to the museum.

An exciting and informative tour - Beautiful building, friendly welcome, interesting temporary exhibitions, all the history of the train and mythical locomotives superbly maintained and enhanced, some visitable inside. If you are passionate, count 3 hours of minimum visit! Time passes very quickly here and there is a lot to see, to do, to learn. This is the fourth time I've been here and certainly not the last! Escape with the "Iron Horse", an incredible epic that will continue for a long time to come. Congratulations for this magnificent testimony of time spent with a look to the future. A little gem!

MAGIC - THE WONDERLAND OF THE TRAIN - From the entrance you will enter the magical world of the train. The lobby and its "other times" counters will invite you to the beautiful country of childhood. After this glare, the first steam trains and its magnificent machines will reach out to you including, be able to use the famous whistle of the steam train that makes "chouchou".... Gradually, your steps will orient you towards the 21st century and its high-speed trains. Beforehand you will have been able to visit and see the first electric trains and all their "children" and "grandchildren". There's still a lot to see at Train World, but... shh... let's not reveal everything, so many nice surprises await you. Your tour will end with driving a train via the simulator available to visitors. What to do Do not hesitate, alone, with friends, family, you will have a great time at Train World (plan between 2.00 and 3.00 hours). In addition, the reception is excellent.

Pleasantly surprised - Pleasantly surprised by the grandeur and richness of this museum. The train station and its station hall sound beautiful. Then the permanent exhibition of trains and station objects in the various halls is rich and varied. Adults and children loved it. It takes 2.5 hours 3 hours to get around. And in the end, you can even drive a train via a simulator. A museum to do absolutely.

Good for Train enthusiasts - Easy to get to. Lots to see. Steam engines very interesting. Lunch at the cafe was good. Stayed about 2.5 hours.

Brilliant museum! - I'm fairly indifferent to trains in many ways but my son is transport-obsessed. However, I cam safely say the whole family thoroughly enjoyed it! We are from a city that houses the National Railway Museum but thought Train World presented the displays in a creative and engaging way. Excellent value for money and a thoroughly enjoyable visit. The only negative for us is that the food offering seemed expensive; but we researched in advance and just took our own picnic for after.

Very Much on Point - I am surprised at one or two of the reviews here. The Museum is actually quite well sign posted and the information is available in English through a number of means. The entrance is certainly not hard to find, it is in fact within a few yards of the exit from the Railway Station platform and very hard to miss. The lighting is appropriate for the very comprehensive display of trains, trams and pretty much every thing else related to getting around Belgium by rail (of various types). There is enough here to interest both the serious railway anorak, and the family with children of all ages, not to mention the very happy school parties that were visiting en masse when we were looking around. There is also some considerable interest for the more generally historically minded, including some sobering coverage of the war time deportations. I did not try the brasserie, but there are several cafes in the immediate area, which are extremely convenient to use if one arrives a little early, as we did, or wish to go somewhere for a snack or more afterwards, and not use the Brasserie on site..

Good but... - Very handsome museum with beautifully restored railcars. Gives a nice overview of the history of the railways in our country. But I think there are some downsides. It is one of the very few museums that do not accept the Museumpass (was apparently abolished 3 years ago and Joost may know why), 65+ already pay the full pot here and one of the rooms was almost completely shrouded in darkness so that you saw almost nothing of the exhibits. So we can do better!
