Well worth if for little kids and for big Lego fans! - I hesitated a bit deciding to make the drive here from our home in Madison because of all the recent bad reviews. I’m so happy we came anyway! We purchased timed tickets online ahead of time which I think may be a bit cheaper. We were actually an hour late because of last minute car problems, but we had no issues getting in in a timely manner. The staff were friendly, and everything was reasonably clean. Most importantly my kids had such an amazing time here, I don’t know how I’m going to get them to leave. :) I would say the family most likely to enjoy this place would definitely be those with younger kids, or who are big Lego fans, and who enjoy hours of open ended play. Even though it’s a long drive, we will definitely be back sometime.

Satisfied - It was a cute place to tour. My 4 year old loved it! She really enjoyed the Lego Friends room. The jungle room was a bit dark and hard to look at the things in it.

Overpriced, just ok - Was able to purchase discounted tickets for a family of 4. Very glad we didn't pay full price! The kids enjoyed (4 and 5) it but it did get incredibly busy considering there wasn't a whole lot going on. Filled up a rainy day but overall wouldn't recommend/return. Would suggest buying a new lego set instead.

Fine on discounted tickets but don't pay full price - This is a good way to kill a few hours but it's not worth the $25/person price tag. The place is rather small and some of the rides are usually out of order, but kids love the play structure. Maybe worth a trip if you can get BOGO tix or other deal, but you'll be disappointed if you pay full price.

One Time Experience for kids - legoland Discovery center in Chicago (Le-La). If you have children who enjoys legos, this is decent (for them)! Located in Schaumburg in the Streets of Woodfield shopping center. You get to see a LEGO replica of local Chicagoland, nice life-sized LEGO models of tigers, monkeys, alligators etc with a quiz trail, Kingdom Quest Laser Ride, where visitors experience the multiple objectives while looking for a treasure chest. LEGO 4D Cinema showing 4D films featuring popular LEGO characters was fun, a police chasing a culprit, some water shooting your way during the chase. There is a LEGO Master Builder Academy offers classes with LEGOLAND Discovery Centre's Master Model Builders DUPLO Village features a play slide, large animal models, and DUPLO bricks to build. The Merlin’s apprentice ride was out of order when we went. LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Shop has a lots and lots of products to choose from.

Bday worst experience - Don’t ever book a party there, They allow cupcakes but not the cake, how stupid is that?? Can anyone explain big difference? When it’s birthday kids want cake, all places allowing it, but not this one….. worst experience, do not recommend (they also not a big help in the party room) had better locations with better price and the birthday cake

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY - My family and I visited and had the worst experience! To start out with, we drove almost 2 hours just to come to Legoland. When we arrived we were told one of the two rides was down with no estimated repair time. We were refused a discount and told we could just choose to not buy tickets. Of course we couldn’t really just leave after having driven that far. Of course to not offer a discount when one of only two rides is broken down is completely bogus! Then when we got inside the entire facility was filthy, it looked like it had never been cleaned before! The Lego exhibits were grimy and dusty and the floors looked as though they had never been cleaned ever before. The bathrooms were the worst! There was no toilet paper in most of the stalls although there was plenty on the ground, the toilet seats were covered in urine, and several toilets were overflowing with toilet paper and waste. Even the Lego store itself had copious amounts of legos scattered all over the floor. The building was absolutely freezing to the point you could literally almost see your breath. My husband who is never cold even commented that it was too cold for kids to play in safely and not appropriate. The 4D movie wasn’t very impressive and not all of the features were even working. At the build your own car station most of the axel pieces were bent to the point you couldn’t even use them to make a car go. Crucial Lego pieces to assemble the wheels weren’t even present at all. Kids were climbing up the ramp to test cars on in the presence of employees so you couldn’t even try to test your cars out and none of the employees could be bothered to say anything to anyone. The snack shop closed more than an hour and a half prior to the facility closing with no warning. My toddler was hungry and thirsty and we were told we couldn’t even carry anything in or come and go to even have a snack outside. In the pirate play area there were older kids throwing the large legos as hard as they could all over the place in front of the employees. Yes their parents should have stopped them but so should have the employees. Someone could very easily have been hurt, especially so close to the toddler play area. My son and I both almost got hurt and I am 7 month pregnant. We were put in harms way multiple times and also denied the ability to eat and drink which I need to do for medical reasons. My entire family is very into legos and I would’ve expected much better of an experience from a facility associated with lego.

Horrible experience - We had a horrible experience followed by a terrible attitude by your manager Jay. When we arrived the cafeteria was not working, the room temperature in the playroom area was freezing throughout our visit (even though we all complained several time). My 4 year old was coughing due to the freezing temperatures the whole time. The movie theatre was not available and the save the princess ride didn’t work (we rode it twice with no luck and were asked to return later throughout the day. There were no characters even though they are advertised as part of the experience. We were there for almost 2 hours waiting for everything to work but my kids eventually got very bored and cold in the playroom area (the only attraction currently working) When I talked to Jay on our way out he had a horrible attitude and told us that everything was going to be working soon but didn’t offer any compensation or solution to our very bad experience so we decided to leave. We’ve visited Florida’s Lego land and were very excited to visit Chicago’s discovery center. We are very disappointed.

Legoland, the scam - A detestable welcome, US$100 for 1 adult and 3 children, and the very present feeling of being ripped off. How is it possible to ask for so much money for so little? 2 rooms, 2 attractions including one which was broken, the other which was stopped for 1 hour and 1 4D film of exceptional nullity. Run away…
