Escape to the Riverside Platform Campsite for a peaceful and immersive wilderness experience. Accessible only by water, this primitive campsite offers a screened open-air room along Lynches River, perfect for individuals or small groups. Ideal for introducing kids to nature.
- 2740 Indigo Landing Rd - Travelers paddle to the platform campsite on Lynches Scenic River to spend the night. The screened platform provides shelter for campers, and the porch is a great place to enjoy the view. There is a firepit for primitive cooking. Please note that there is no electricity or potable water at this location, however, a landing with these amenities is located approximately 1/4 mile upstream. Campers should plan to “Leave No Trace.” All trash must be carried away. A primitive toilet is provided. No hunting is permitted.

Arrangements can be made for shuttling kayaks between landings along the SC Revolutionary Rivers National Recreation Trail. This is a 66-mile trail on Lynches River and the Great Pee Dee River. The trail leads paddlers into the cypress and tupelo swamps where Revolutionary War hero General Francis Marion hid while fighting for liberty. It was in this area that he was given the nickname of “Swamp Fox.”

Only reachable via water, this untouched camping spot is ideal for those seeking tranquility. The open-air room measures 15’x15’ and is outfitted with screens, making it a protected place to sleep alongside Lynches River. This site is versatile, catering to individual campers or small gatherings.
Additionally, this setting serves as a fantastic opportunity to familiarize children with the great outdoors. A firepit is also provided for food preparation and marshmallow roasting.
