Highlights
  • 1531 Melrose Ave - Look forward to a most unique, fun, engaging and enriching time up in the Greenfire Loft inside Melrose Market. This Cocktail and/or Mocktail Lab experience happens on a limited basis. If you have a specific date in mind please reach out to me and I’ll see if I can make it happen.

This experience has no dress code. As soon as you enter, you’ll be handed a lab coat – perfect as a pre-funk to your night out on the town. Also, feel free to just lounge around [drink in hand] in one of the comfy wing-backed chairs and enjoy the ambiance of being perched above many award-winning businesses.

I will begin the lab by introducing you to all the tools and ingredients available. Cocktail and mocktail recipes will offer a starting point. As you take off on your own concocting direction, guidance is available. This is not necessarily a cocktail class or mocktail class; more of a laboratory where you get to experiment. Hands-on style of workshop! Up to each guest over age 21 if they want to add alcohol to their drinks or keep it non-alcoholic.

What's Included
  • Carbonated beverages
  • Bottled water
  • Use of all equipment along with instruction, including our smoking gun for infusing liquids as well as solids
  • Only ages 21+ are allowed to consume alcoholic beverages. Please message us if you or your guest(s) is under 21 so we can best accommodate everyone

Fun time experimenting with cocktails. - First, the space the workshop was in was incredible. It was upstairs in a loft in an old brick building just up on Capitol Hill from the Convention Center. It felt like a hidden speakeasy. There were loads of interesting curios around the lab: an old phone (that worked), books with secret compartments, a fortune cookie dispenser with adults-only fortunes, a bar globe, among other fascinating artifacts. The host spent the first 10 or 15 minutes explaining how things work and emphasized that it was not a mixology class, but rather a laboratory where all the time was yours to spend experimenting. There seemed to be dozens of different types and brands of alcohol and hundreds of different things you could add to the alcohol: sweet syrups, flavored bitters, ice, smoke, fruit, dried spices, etc. For my first cocktail, I decided to keep it simple and create a rum old-fashioned with some spice. The drinks that followed were much more experimental, using things like avocado powder, glitter, charred salt, smoke, chocolate, and rosemary. Altogether, I made four drinks in the two hours and sampled other people's drinks as well. The host and her assistant were super friendly and answered any questions I asked them. I highly recommend this activity for both groups, singles and for a good date night.

Mad Scientist Cocktail and Mocktail Lab - The Mad Scientist Cocktail and Mocktail Lab was an experience like no other. From the moment you step through the doors and into the lab there is a level of sophistication and creativity. I do not want to give too much away, but the lab experience is the opportunity to unleash your creativity and experiment with different flavor combinations. From smoky mezcal infusions to tangy citrus blends, the possibilities are endless. With a vast array of ingredients at your disposal, you're free to let your imagination run wild and create drinks that are as unique as you are. Jen does a great welcoming her guests in and I feel it is a must go and visit if you are in town. Additionally, to have the opportunity to even mix, mingle, and connect with people is fanatic especially since Seattle has this misconception of an introvert town.

Good times - Good times. A fun way to play with cocktails without having to invest in a million ingredients. Or you can go off the rails and make something truly unhinged.

Fun and interesting good thing time - This is not a mixology class, you basically are let loose to try things yourself. You can drink as much as you can handle

Fun mixing crazy drinks - I showed up for the drinks, I stayed for the science! This is a great playground for imagining weird mixological reactions and then making them happen. The choices were endless, but Jen is great at getting you started and helping make their cocktail dreams happen. A fun evening.

Needs more structure!!! - Enjoyed the class but it needs more structure. I was hoping for more instruction versus just letting people play with ingredients..

Eh, it was okay - The experience was okay. Our host didn’t even know we were coming. Kind of got half of an explanation. And not really hands on.

What a Bummer! - This was a horrible experience. The owner started late.(15min). She was cleaning most of the time. At the beginning she offered a quick run down of how things go. I will never suggest this activity to anyone. We wasted our money and time. She left us hanging, we were literally left to figure everything out on our own. At one point, she talked about herself (about 20 minutes). She knew that we not familiar with mixing drinks ect. Yet she offered little assistance. I could go on and on!!!! Pathetic.
