Olympic National Park Visitor Center - Olympic National Park is a U.S. national park located in Washington state, on the Olympic Peninsula. The park is divided into four main regions: the Pacific coastline, alpine areas, the west side temperate rainforest, and the forests of the drier east side. U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt originally established Mount Olympus National Monument. The Olympic Peninsula features 73 miles of coastline, preserving its original landscape since the Ice Age. With a lowland rainforest in the west, the magnificent Olympic Mountains in the center, and limited automobile access, it is a hiker’s paradise. Isolated from the mainland, many of its plants and animals are unique to this area. Olympic National Park, located on the Olympic Peninsula, is one of the most frequently visited National Parks on the west coast.

Hurricane Ridge - 04/01-10/15 Itinerary:

Located within Washington’s Olympic National Park, this mountainous area is a popular spot for hiking, skiing, and snowboarding. In the summer, several picnic areas open up, making it an excellent destination for a day trip from nearby Seattle.

Special Note:

Hurricane Ridge will be closed from 10/16/2023. In case of closure of Hurricane Ridge or other unavoidable factors (such as heavy rain, mudslides, and other extreme weather), the itinerary will be changed to Ediz Hook (30 mins) → East Beach (30 mins).

Marymere Falls - Due to development, very few temperate rainforests outside of Olympic National Park exist along this stretch today. In Olympic, temperatures rarely drop below freezing or rise above 80°F, fostering a unique ecosystem. Mosses, ferns, Douglas fir, red alders, Western hemlocks, and Sitka spruce thrive in temperate rainforests, as do epiphytes, which are plants that grow on other plants. Cat-tail moss and licorice ferns are two types of epiphytes you will find in Olympic.

Lake Crescent - This deep lake in the heart of Olympic National Park has water that is a brilliant shade of bright blue. It was formed during the last Ice Age by thousands of years of glacial activity.

Bainbridge Island Ferry - Roundtrip ferry between Seattle and Bainbridge (around 45 mins each way)

Ediz Hook - Ediz Hook is a long, thin peninsula that extends from the Port Angeles Harbor. The expansive view of the hook showcases the blue and green hues of the Olympic Mountains and offers a faint view of Canada across the water. Besides the group of stray community cats that roam the area, you are likely to spot seals and glimpses of orcas in the distance. Additionally, there is an abundance of various bird species. At the very end of Ediz Hook, there is a U.S. Coast Guard Station responsible for search and rescue, homeland security, and environmental maintenance.

East Beach Road - The aptly named East Beach is nestled on Lake Crescent’s northeastern end, less than a mile from Highway 101. Its convenient location makes it a popular spot, and it fills up quickly during the warm summer months. East Beach stretches from Stearns Wharf to the city limits just past the Clark Estate, on the eastern end of the four-mile stretch of city beach parks. East Beach offers picnic facilities, more than a dozen volleyball courts, a playground, and beautiful ocean views.

Snoqualmie –Leavenworth

Leavenworth - Explore Snoqualmie Falls and Leavenworth, the German Village! These are both incredible places to visit. Enjoy an unforgettable day filled with amazing memories.

Itinerary:

Snoqualmie Falls (45 mins) → Leavenworth the German Village (180 mins)

Snoqualmie Falls - The Snoqualmie Falls waterfall is located in Washington State. It is visible along the river of the same name. The falls and the town gained international fame when they were used as filming locations for the hit show “Twin Peaks.” These falls are breathtaking and definitely worth a visit!

Leavenworth - Discover the German village 2.5 hours northwest of Seattle, the most popular town in this area where people celebrate all the time. You can see beautiful maple leaves here in the fall. Leavenworth, the townsite was across the Wenatchee River from Icicle and was named Leavenworth the same year rail construction began. Captain Charles Leavenworth, president of the Okanogan Investment Company, purchased the land in present-day downtown and laid the streets parallel to the new railroad tracks. The railroad construction was completed during the winter of 1893. Lafayette Lamb and his brother, Chancery Lamb, arrived in 1903 from Iowa to build the second-largest sawmill in Washington state. In winter, the town is covered in white snow and holiday decorations. A lovely atmosphere can be found here all year round. Enjoy shopping for delicate European souvenirs and the famous German food and beer, or try on traditional German clothes.
