Bootleggers, Crooks and Intrigue...Oh My! - Richard our Tour Guide was terrific! I took my 95 year old Mom and she remembered being in the Chinese Room for a UW Fraternity Dance when she was 19 years old. So much fun.

Fascinating history and great views - It was great to learn the history of the tower in the exhibition before venturing on to the Observatory deck. Good orientation boards to explain views and topped off with decently strong cocktails.

Smith Tower - Amazing View and history tour - What an amazing tour! Richard was our guide, and the amount of knowledge he had was amazing, and the history of Smith Tower is also amazing. The craftsmanship of the building is mind-blowing and beautiful. We did this instead of the Space Needle per locals. They said that the Space Needle is overpriced, and you are rushed through it. The view from the top of Smith Tower is as good or better than the Space Needle and you can spend any amount of time looking at the city below. A definite must-do in Seattle

Spectacular Views but Bar Needs an Overhaul - Last time I went to the top of Smith Tower was over 40 years ago and it was free to ride the elevator. They now charge a lot of money to do so! The views are still spectacular and it is an iconic part of Seattle history. The bar was pretty full—definitely make a reservation when you get your elevator ticket. A scenic setting for expensive drinks (although they are very generous with their wine pours). The menu definitely needs an overhaul. Most items not available and the menu was full of crosscuts messily drawn by hand. We ordered the charcuterie board—very expensive for items that were worth maybe 1/6 the price. Overall though, a fun experience being a tourist in our own city.

Good view, Questionable service - The views were amazing. Don't go on a Thursday as the bar and restaurant doesn't get resupplied until Friday. They were out of many food items. But apparently not one that we were told was out. We ordered a plate that included a selection on meats. We negotiated a deal to get the rest of plate at a reduced price. A short time later a group seated behind us and ordered the same plate from the same server. Theirs magically included the meat?? Boomers vs young attractive women? Oh well

Decently good - Beautiful views and tasty cocktails. Food wasn’t great and very limited offerings. Pricy for what you get. Staff was friendly

So disappointed... - I can’t tell you how disappointed we were last month when we visited Smith Tower with 6 of our friends, especially after I had talked up this venue. My wife and I have been Rum Runner Members several times over the last 8-9 years. And we love bringing visitors to the bar / restaurant with the incredible view. Our visit started out poorly when the hostess in the lobby could not renew our membership as had been done every other time we renewed. The renewal took five minutes in the past as all our information was already in the computer profile. So easy, right ? She said that we had to go online and renew, only option. Ugh ! Well, we had been at the Mariners game and, without my glasses, I had to renew on my phone. It took forever. I guess my fault for leaving my glasses in the car. So we finally get the memberships done and go to pay for the other 4 people when she informs me that there is no longer a discount if you show your Mariners ticket. Ugh ! Again. So we belly up another $ 50-60 for our other guests. We ask if she can provide us with our new membership cards, but those have gone away too. Oh well… We finally get upstairs , which is still the best view in town, and are given a tiny handwritten, small wine list. So disappointing after I had bragged for two days about this unbelievable experience about to be enjoyed after our baseball game. I looked like a goof. Unfortunately we have paid $ 200.00 for another year for the two of us. I doubt if we will ever go back to use the membership. Maybe there is a way that we can just cancel and get our $$$ back ? Let me know if that is an option. So sad that things change, and not in a good way. What happened ???
