Highlights

Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo is home to over 1,100 animals representing 300 animal species.

Connect with nature as you explore the world of gorillas, grizzlies, lions, giraffes, and more. Meet inquisitive and intelligent ambassador animals at outdoor theater programs–a hornbill, porcupine, raccoon, miniature pot-bellied pigs, and others. Watch penguins “fly” underwater along a breathtaking desert coast. Delight in the playful antics of otters. Get up close with orangutans in an open forest canopy. Experience the beauty of free-flying butterflies in a seasonal garden. Encounter tigers and learn how to protect these magnificent cats. See…and save wildlife!

The zoo’s 92 acres are divided into bioclimatic zones, showcasing various natural habitats from humid tropical rain forests and coastal deserts to temperate rain forests like those in the Pacific Northwest. Renowned for its innovative exhibits and extensive horticultural collection, the award-winning zoo is celebrated as one of the best in the world.

Feed a penguin, chat with a zoo keeper, ride the historic carousel–there’s so much to experience at the Woodland Park Zoo!

Brown Bears! - We love zoos and go in many cities that we visit. We saw many cool animals here. My favorite was getting to see brown bears really up close. Fern and Juniper were swimming all the way up to the glass. So playful and fun.

Enjoy a full day in the Zoo - I love going to Woodland Park Zoo. I try and go as often as I can. Every time I've gone, it's been pleasant. The staff is always friendly and every is nice to make sure all get a chance to the animals. Go early, take a lunch and enjoy the day.

Not all animals were out - While it was great to see the animals that were out, the animals such as the gorillas, monkeys, rhino, and lemur were not. This was very disappointing.

Worst zoo in America! Do not come here! - If you want to come look at the trees and see a few birds, by all means come here. If you want to see NO OTHER ANIMALS by all means come here. Not joking, 95% of the enclosures are empty. No they’re not sleeping. They are empty. You’ve been warned!
