Excellent hiking area - Best hike ever. Enjoyed swimming in the natural pools and scenery was majestic. We arrived at ~9am and it wasn't too crowded. When we did the return the crowds were large and the parking area was packed. If I were to do it again, I would pack a lunch and arrive even earlier to have even less crowds.

Best trail to explore - Been here for the first time and if you are heading towards sur or coming back then do not miss this hidden gem which is best place for tourists to visit. For 1 OMR ( Per Person) you get return boat ride with exploring the trail with hiking and clean clear water plus you can also have an hotel booked their if you want. A very long walk for hitch hikers especially in winters.

Wadi Shab - unforgettable day out - This place is fabulous. The breathtaking scenery in itself is worth the effort of getting here, and the hike and swim to the hidden waterfall and cave just adds to it. We went with Abdullah (Oman_Raw_Explorer +968 94141616), who was a great tour guide, took lots of great video and photos so we could enjoy the moment, and provided us with authentic refreshments and lunch. Highly recommended.

Landscape and superb experience - At the start, a small boat that allows to cross the small lake, 5 minutes. Then about 45 minutes walk through the canyon, first flat then uphill along the gorge which already offers splendid views. By really dangerous, the climb is done by slaloming the rocks and is sometimes delicate but never really dangerous. We arrive at the lake in an extraordinary setting, precious, transparent and warm water. The first lake passed, we climb into the second small lake and we soon arrive at the entrance of the cave. I, who am a bit clostrophobic, felt a little bit of stress to pass the canal that leads to the center of the cave. Inside, incredible beauty and sensations, about fifteen meters in diameter and the rocks around where you have to find the catch to rest. Beautiful. The return via the little canal a little stressful, and back in the lakes to the starting point where we dry out and still enjoy the place. I swam in my swimsuit and shirtless, there were women swimming in bikinis, in swimsuits and/or completely covered. It is useful to have "swimshoes" with you but be careful not to lose them while swimming because the barefoot descent is a total horror for the feet (I lost a shoe in the water...). A swimbag (waterproof) on sale for approx. 8 OMR at the start of the adventure is recommended to put dry business, smartphone, or camera.. Timing: allow about an hour to go up, prepare, boat and walk, if you go into the cave, count an hour for swimming and another hour to go down... From 4 pm .. more sun, then fell at night around 5:15 pm, so departure recommended before 1 pm for a nice hike!!!

Wadi Shab - The place is beautiful. However it is a long walk. From the parking area, there are locals that will take you by boat to cross the river. You will pay 1 OMR. Then you will have to walk around 40 minutes. For me who has less stamina in terms of walking/hiking it was not easy. You gonna pass through rocks however when you start seeing the wadi, it was worth it. If you don't know how to swim, you can rent life jacket in the parking area. The wadi is beautiful, do not miss going to the end of the wadi where there is a cave. That place is serene.
