Highlights
  • Thingvellir National Park - One of the most interesting locations in Iceland due to its geological and historical importance. It holds the meeting of the American and Eurasian tectonic plates, but also this place was chosen to celebrate the general assembly, this is where Iceland’s parliament was founded in 930 A.D.
  • Oxararfoss - Even though this beautiful waterfall is not one of the biggest in the country, it is one of the Icelandic people’s most well-loved waterfalls due to its location and for its historical significance
  • Efstidalur II - We will visit Efstidalur dairy farm for some ice cream and also to visit Icelandic cows and other animals.
  • Geysir - Geysir geothermal area is quite stunning where you witness the geyser Strokkur erupts every five minutes.
  • Gullfoss Waterfall - The thundering Gullfoss waterfall tops many lists as a powerful and hypnotizing natural phenomenon
  • Fridheimar - After having lunch (not included) at this tomato farm, we will gain an insight into the processes of greenhouse horticulture, with a short and informative talk on the subject.
Also, Friðheimar breeds Icelandic horses, so we will be able to see and pet a couple of them.
  • Kerid Crater - It is one of several crater lakes in the area, known as Iceland’s Western Volcanic Zone, which includes the Reykjanes peninsula and the Langjökull Glacier, created as the land moved over a localized hotspot, but it is the one that has the most visually recognizable caldera still intact.

Great Golden Circle Tour - We had Devin for a tour guide . He was great ! Very knowledgeable , informative and friendly . He also was punctual -which is important when you are standing out in the cold , waiting . He seems to really love his job and be passionate about sharing his knowledge of Iceland . It was a pleasure being in his group .

An efficient yet thorough tour! - We (two adults and two teens 12 and 15) took the 9 hour tour from Reykjavik. Our guide was Devin, and we were on a small tour of 14 people total. With the exception of the drizzly weather (oh well!), everything was perfect. We were picked up on time at our bus stop and had great communication around the pick up. Devin taught us a lot about the history of Iceland and about each stop as we went along. Our group thankfully was efficient with no stragglers who delayed us, so we were able to stay on schedule and see amazing things. My only complaint is that I felt rushed in a few places (particularly the tomato farm, since I would have liked another 20 mins or so to eat in a more relaxed way and to check out the gift shop) but that’s par for the course on a group tour. If you want to linger at any of these places for a significant length of time, I’d recommend doing a rental car and going solo, but for our situation this was really great. Thanks Devin!

The best Golden Circle tour where you get to enjoy the sights and amazing food - I firmly believe that this is probably the best Golden Circle tour currently available. The bus will have at most 19 people (other tours will have up to 60), the spots are eventually spaced out so the driving time goes by fast, and in addition to the Golden circle highlights, you also get to visit the dairy (I recommend getting the ice cream and hot chocolate) and tomato (definitely try one of the tomato themed drinks) farms. Devin was also a great driver who shared a lot of history, stories, and jokes which also enhanced the experience.

Pick this one - This trip packed in a lot in a relatively small period of time, with solid history and context from the guide. The food stops were a surprising bonus to the geological wonders along the way. Don't overfill before you get to the tomato farm, this was one of my favorite food stops in 10 days in Iceland. There are many Golden Circle tours, make sure you pick a tour with the right combination of stops for you.

Golden Circle with A Tomato Farm Stop - Enjoyed Thingviller National Park, Geysir, Gulfoss waterfall and Kerid crater which were all worth seeing. Ice cream stop was done before lunch at a Tomato Farm green house. They were interesting stops, delicious, and learnt something about these business. These stops are extra expenses.

Highly recommend! - Great tour, our weather was spectacular! Our guide was knowledgeable and fun to listen to and could answer just about about any question thrown at him. Baldvin brought a gentle humour, kindness and patience to the tour. There was a good balance of independence and group activities. Food at the Tomato Farm was excellent. The only thing we would change is to add an extra 15 minutes or so at each stop to fully soak in the experiences!

Small group Golden Circle with the only Leroy in Iceland! - Our guide Leroy was great. We were picked up on time from our hotel. The weather was not the best, cold and rainy so there was not much visibility along the way. The hikes through Thingvellir, and to see the geyser were very "Icelandic". Wear layers and have waterproof outer layer and shoes just in case. It was a nice warm break to have lunch at the tomato farm. The food was great. You get a short time at each destination but was a nice excursion from Reykjavik.
