Highlights
  • Thingvellir National Park - Drive from Reykjavík to Þingvellir National Park (about 1 hour drive).

Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, seamlessly blends natural beauty with historical significance. Nestled in the heart of Iceland, this captivating destination invites visitors to explore a unique geological wonder—the meeting point of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The park’s dramatic landscapes, featuring rocky cliffs and serene lakes, provide a picturesque backdrop for various outdoor activities. Beyond its natural allure, Þingvellir holds cultural importance as the historic site of Iceland’s first parliament, the Alþingi, established in 930 AD. This harmonious fusion of nature and history makes Þingvellir National Park a must-visit destination for those seeking an enriching and awe-inspiring Icelandic experience.

  • Geysir - From Þingvellir we drive eastwards to Geysir Geothermal Area (about 1 hour drive).

Explore the marvels of Geysir Area in Iceland’s Haukadalur Valley. Witness the iconic Geysir, a historic geyser with sporadic eruptions, and the lively Strokkur, shooting hot water reliably into the sky. The landscape is adorned with vibrant mineral-rich pools, creating a surreal palette of blues, greens, and oranges. Inhale the earthy aroma as steam rises, and feel the warmth beneath your feet, immersing yourself in the raw energy of the planet. Surrounded by Iceland’s natural beauty, this geothermal wonderland offers a captivating journey into the heart of geologic forces, where every moment is an encounter with Earth’s elemental grandeur.

  • Gullfoss Waterfall - From Geysir we continue to Gullfoss Waterfall (about 15 min drive).

Gullfoss is located in Iceland’s Hvítá River canyon, is a formidable natural wonder. With a two-tiered drop, it descends into a deep gorge, generating a thunderous roar. The name “Golden Falls” alludes to the waterfall’s golden-brown sediment-laden waters. Gullfoss is a key attraction along the Golden Circle, and its awe-inspiring force and scenic beauty make it a must-see destination for nature enthusiasts and visitors exploring Iceland’s geological wonders.

After this visit we drive back to Reykjavík through the farmlands of the south (about 2 hours drive).

Best tour company i have ever dealt with! 1000% recommend them - I booked a group trip for 12 people which Dagbjort looked after. The weather meant not one but 2 flights got cancelled and Dagbjort managed to move every single one of our tours around with one days notice, was on hand constantly going back and forth with a million questions from me and coming up with new ideas for the trip and to top it off then chucked in a 3 course meal on the house at an amazing restaurant. I got outstanding reviews from the people who went on the trip. The tour guides were amazing, the transfers were prompt and easy to find & everything went seamlessly. I couldn't recommend this company anymore. And they are very reasonably priced too, at first i questioned why they were so much cheaper than other tour companies and it is because they have their own fleet which is also why when the weather meant things got messed up it was all so easy to sort out and i only had to contact one person. Amazing tour company and amazing staff!!! The greenhouse on the golden circle is amazing and so is the lava tour!

Stunning Scenery and knowledgeable guide! - We were promptly met by our guide, Vidir Kristjansson, at the cruise terminal. The stunning scenery is non-stop. Vidir was knowledgable and quite eager to share his country with us. Walking through the towering cliffs of Thingvellir National Park was awesome. Having never seen a geyser before, Geysir Hot Springs put on quite a demonstration. And, the blue hue of Little Geysir was captivating. The major attraction of our trip was the magnificent Gullfoss, and it did not disappoint. I can understand why people risk their life to get the perfect picture. Our tour continued to Faxi waterfall and the geothermal overs at Laugavata Fontana. Our visit to the geothermal ovens coincided with a loaf of baked bread being dug up from it's steamy oven. We had a fabulous day with Vidir. One of our traveling companions was suffering from a nasty cold. Vidir took the time to make sure she was comfortable throughout the day and allowed her to stay in the van when she didn't feel well enough to walk from the parking lots.

Superb guiding made the experience unforgettable - This tour is nonstop eye candy. The destinations themselves are any photographer's dream, and witnessing an active geyser was a rare treat that I will always remember. Downtown in the bus doesn't even feel like a break, because the Icelandic landscape you see during the entire trip is dramatic, dynamic, and mind-blowingly gorgeous. However, Marielle was a spectacular guide, and it is she who really made the tour truly exceptional. She was remarkably knowledgeable, told great jokes, and knew exactly how much to talk and how much to let us enjoy the scenery in silence. However, her strength really shines in that you can tell she genuinely cares about your experience. She goes above and beyond to see that you not only have a smooth trip, but that you have an unforgettable adventure. She helped a member of our group who had left his medication at home, and also made sure that everyone in the group got to know one another and become friends with clever ice breakers. Really, it was Marielle that made the tour great.
