Unique Water Adventure - This tour is a great way to see the geology that many Icelandic guides talk about. It was an early start, but you will arrive at the location from Reykjavík in about an hour, once there you will put on the dry suit. This part takes a little while, but it is because the guides are carefully making sure your suit is sealed up. You will probably feel constricted and a little claustrophobic once everything is on, as there is a seal at the wrists and neck. Once you’re in the water, you’ll feel a lot better because of the weightlessness. Your guide will do one last check to make sure you are comfortable in the water, and your group will get started. There are some incredible views, and I was very happy in the water. Near the end there is a very small current against you, but nothing your flippers can’t work against. Highly recommend for a more adventurous and unique tour. Finally, a big thank you to Dori, our guide. She is very friendly and helpful. Made everyone feel very safe and secure, and that she was keeping an eye out for us all.

Nothing cooler than snorkeling in Iceland - I must admit, the idea of snorkeling in Iceland initially seemed like some kind of oxymoron. But with my kids (early twenties) excited to snorkel between the tectonic plates as part of our family vacation, I was all in. Of the 6 in our family group, we had 3 opt for dry suits and 3 opt for wet suits (wanting the ability to dive down to get better a look). But with temps below freezing the day of our tour, the 3 that had thought they wanted wet suits had second thoughts. Our guide, Dory, gave the sage advise to go with the dry suits. The dry suits were the right call, as the water was crystal clear, allowing us excellent visibility to the bottom. Except for our face and hands, the dry suits kept us dry; and surprisingly warm-ish. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Dory thoroughly prepped us so that we all felt very comfortable with what to expect and the equipment; always very encouraging and friendly. And she captured many great pictures that will help ensure this experience lasts a lifetime.

SilfrA - Dori was great!! super helpful and made sure we were all comfortable. Silfra had long been a bucket list location for me and Dori made it all that I could’ve expected! She was very knowledgeable and double checked to make sure the suits were sealed so they wouldn’t leak. Would do this again!!!

A must-do experience! - This is one of my top experiences from Reykjavik. We were picked up by our guide Greta, who gave us some information on the area on the way to Silfra. Once we arrived, we got changed. Yes it was in a van, but no-one got undressed and it was very cold outside as well as raining! They ask that you come in the correct clothing depending on which suit we were going in. We were going to go in a wetsuit, but were advised not to due to the water and air temperature. We decided to switch to dry suit and it was no problem. I was, however, wearing only a swimsuit as my outer clothes weren't suitable. I thought this would mean I would get cold, but I was fine. When the guide says don't move your hands it will let in water - this is true and you will get cold hands. I should also note that you are only in the water for a short while, so if your hands or feet go cold then don't worry. They will warm up on the walk back to the van to change. And of course, you get a hot chocolate!! I would definately go again!!
