Day 1: Fly from Istanbul to Izmir – Ephesus Tour

You will be collected from your hotel in Istanbul around 4:00 am and transferred to the domestic airport for your flight to Izmir, scheduled between 6:00 – 7:30 am. Upon arrival at Izmir airport, you will be picked up and taken to Selçuk. In Selçuk, you will meet your professional tour guide to start your full-day tour of Ephesus.

Explore the ruins of Ephesus, an ancient Greek city that was a significant center of its time. Visit the Temple of Hadrian, the Great Theater, and the Trajan Fountain. After lunch, visit the House of the Virgin Mary, believed to be where she spent her final years. You will also pass by the Temple of Artemis, one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world, though little remains. Afterwards, visit the Isa Bey Mosque. After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kusadasi for check-in.

Pamukkale and Hierapolis Tour – Return Flight to Istanbul

Pamukkale - After breakfast around 7:15 am, you will be picked up from your Kusadasi hotel. The drive to Pamukkale takes approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival around 11:45 am, the group will first have lunch, and at around 1:00 pm, you will begin your guided tour of Pamukkale and Hierapolis with a tour guide. In Pamukkale, you will see the Cotton Cliffs, a natural wonder formed by deposits of calcareous salts. You will also visit the ancient ruins of the City of Hierapolis, including its basilica, theatre, and Roman Baths. At the end of the guided tour, you will have some free time to explore the area independently. Optionally, you may choose to swim in the Pamukkale antique pools (at your own expense) during this free time. The tour guide will provide details on the exact meeting point and time. The tour concludes around 4:00 pm, after which you will be transferred to the airport for a late evening flight back to Istanbul, arriving at your hotel around 10:00 pm.

Cleopatra Pools - At the end of the guided tour, you will have some free time to explore the area independently. Optionally, you may choose to swim in the Pamukkale antique pools (at your own expense) during this free time.

Hierapolis & Pamukkale - Meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, this breathtaking landscape of white travertine terraces is a natural collection of mineral pools formed by calcite-laden waters from hot springs.
