At Kusadasi port or your hotel, a guide holding a placard with your name will be waiting for you. From there, they’ll take you straight to the attractions. You’ll first explore the ancient city of Ephesus, the most excellently conserved classical city in the eastern Mediterranean and Turkey’s largest open-air museum. See the Great Theatre, where St. Paul once preached against pagan beliefs and gladiators battled. The beautifully restored facade of the Library of Celsus, originally built between 115-125, is the most frequently photographed spot in Ephesus, which used to accommodate 25,000 people.
Possible sights also include the Odeon Temple, Trajan’s Fountain, Temple of Hadrian, Scholastica Baths, Marble Road, the agora, and the Temple of Domitian. After dining at a local Turkish bistro, the tour will proceed to the House of the Virgin Mary. According to legend, Mary was brought to Ephesus by Apostle John following the resurrection of Christ, and spent her remaining years here.
Once the tour concludes, you’ll be driven back to your starting point.
