Jomblang Cave - Jomblang Cave is a vertical cave of the collapse doline type and a popular tourist destination in Gunungkidul. This cave was created by a geological process where the land and its vegetation collapsed into the earth thousands of years ago. This unique feature includes a cave mouth area of approximately 50 meters, often referred to as Luweng Jomblang. Jomblang Cave is situated in Gunungkidul Regency, DI Yogyakarta.
Currently, Jomblang Cave serves as a site for ancient plant conservation and has been developed into a special interest tourist attraction managed by local residents. To descend into this vertical cave, the management provides complete equipment adhering to caving safety standards for vertical caves.
The sunlight that penetrates from the 90-meter-high Luweng Grubug creates a pillar of light, illuminating the stunning flowstone and the dark depths of the cave. - Pindul Cave - Pindul Cave is a tourist attraction featuring a cave located in Bejiharjo Village, Karangmojo District, Gunungkidul Regency. Pindul Cave is renowned for cave exploration done by riding a rubber ring along the underground river, an activity known as cave tubing. The underground river flows from the cave’s entrance to its end, with a narrow section that can only be traversed by one rubber ring at a time, so tourists usually take turns passing through. Pindul Cave is 350 meters long, 5 meters wide, and has a 4-meter distance from the water surface to the cave roof. Exploring Pindul Cave takes about one hour and concludes at a dam. The river flow in Pindul Cave originates from the Gedong 7 spring.
- Oya River - River Tubing Oyo, also known as “Susur Sungai Oyo,” is a popular tourist attraction in Gunung Kidul following Goa Pindul. Tourists often choose to visit this attraction after exploring Goa Pindul. The distance between Goa Pindul and Sungai Oyo is approximately 1 km. Although the same special equipment is used as in Goa Pindul, River Tubing Oyo offers a different location and scenery. River tubing Oyo is not overly extreme, and its safety has been thoroughly assessed before being established as a tourist attraction. Water discharge checks are conducted daily during the rainy season. During river tubing, visitors will encounter the Oyo River Waterfall, a perfect spot for taking photos. Here, visitors can also try jumping from heights of 4 meters or 9 meters, or enjoy bathing under the Oyo River Waterfall to experience the refreshing sensation of the water.
