Day 1: Dakar City tour and Goree Island day trip.
We pick you up at 9:00am from your accommodation.
3-hour visit to the highlights of Dakar City, including:

Goree Island - Goree Island.
After the city tour, a 20-minute ferry crossing. Lunch before the tour if necessary. Visit the former slave house with the Door of No Return, followed by a tour of the rest of the island. Return to Dakar at the end of the day.

Pink Lake and Saint Louis Overnight

Lake Retba - Pink Lake and Saint Louis overnight.
Today you will check out.
Pick up at 9:00am for a 1-hour drive to the lake. 15-minute boat ride.
30 minutes of free time and restroom break before leaving.

Saint-Louis - Departure from Pink Lake, 5-hour drive with a lunch break if necessary. Check into your hotel in Saint Louis and enjoy free time for the rest of the day.

Saint Louis City Tour and Lompoul Desert Overnight

Lompoul - After breakfast, check out and visit Saint Louis city with a 2-hour carriage ride. Enjoy lunch before departure, followed by a 1.5-hour drive. Arrive and check into your lodge. Free time until 5pm for a 15-minute camel ride, sunset watching, drumming and dancing, and dinner under the desert night sky. End of the day.

Touba Great Mosque and Toubacouta Overnight

Fathala Reserve and Gambia

Banjul - Fathala Reserve lion walk and border crossing to The Gambia.

20-minute drive to Fathala Reserve for a 30-minute lion walk. Then a 10-minute drive to the Senegal-Gambia border for immigration. 1.5-hour drive to Jufureh Museum and Kunta Kinteh. About 2-hour visit. Afterward, a 1-hour drive to the ferry for a 40-minute crossing. Check into your accommodation and enjoy free time for the rest of the day.

Highlights of Gambia: Serekunda, Banjul, Bakau, Senegambia

Return to Senegal: Delta du Saloum, Ndangane

Last Day: End of Our Service

Senegal - The last day to explore the Delta du Saloum.
After breakfast, check out and take a boat tour through the beautiful mangroves, visit Mar Lodj village, and see the large baobab tree in Senegal, Joal Fadiouth seashell. End of our service. Excellent organization! - This trip gave me a great overview of the most iconic spots of Senegal and Gambia; I also appreciated a lot the ability of Mika in adapting this tour according to my needs as well as unexpected events (my connecting flight to Dakar was canceled and postponed to the following day, but Mika rearranged the tour allowing me to recover the stages that othewise I would have missed)

Amazing Tour of Senegal and The Gambia - We had an amazing tour of Senegal and the Gambia with our very knowledgeable guide Abdoulaye and our very conscientious driver Aly. I can’t say enough about these two men. I will never forget their kindness and professionalism. We visited an array of sites and villages that gave us a unique look at these two countries and the people who live there. Abdoulaye also knew all of the best restaurants to visit no matter where we were. The food was wonderful! This was a very well thought out tour. Besides learning a lot, we walked with lions, touched a crocodile and played with monkeys. Thank you to owner Mika for helping us plan, answering questions before we arrived and arranging airport transit. We highly recommend Triptours Senegal if you’re planning to visit!

2021 Senegal and The Gambia with Mika Guisse - We had Mika Guisse as our tour guide during our entire 2021 Senegal and The Gambia trip. He was magnificent. He is so knowledgeable, patient and informative. He made sure our group got to experience so much more than what we would have on our own or with another tour guide. He got us to Goree Island, Kunta Kinteh Island, a Fulani Village where we were welcomed and got to meet the Chief, The Museum of Black Civilization, The Renaissance Monument, Senegalese wrestling, ATV riding and so much more. He even took us to the clinic to get our mandatory COVID-19 test which was needed to travel between Senegal and The Gambia and then back to the clinic to get the test again which was needed to travel back to the US. And the cost for the test was so inexpensive, we really got a bargain. He also took us to the marketplace to do some last minute shopping before our flights back home. We felt so safe with Mika because everywhere we went, everyone knew and respected him. Our group nicknamed Mika the Mayor of Dakar. Any questions you have about anything in Senegal or The Gambia, Mika is the best person for answers. Do yourself a favor and book with Mika and his team.
