Highlights
  • Sokcho Beach - Opened in 1976, Sokcho Beach is among Korea’s most beloved beaches. It’s conveniently located within walking distance from Sokcho Express Bus Terminal, making it a favorite for tourists. The beach features clean, shallow waters, which are especially popular during the summer. Nearby, there are numerous restaurants and convenience facilities, as well as a small park with walking trails through a pine forest. Visitors can also find unique photo spots and sculptures along the beach. Throughout the year, busking performances and festivals add to the beach’s charm.

  • Sokcho Tourist Fish Market - A must-visit in Sokcho, the Sokcho Tourist Fish Market offers a wide variety of goods. The market includes a large building with a basement and two floors above ground, along with specialized alley stores. Inside, you’ll find shops selling clothes, daily necessities, and other general products, as well as the Nonghyup Hanaro Mart and the Raw Fish Center, which offers fresh live fish and seafood at reasonable prices. The alley market is divided into sections, each specializing in different products such as vegetables & fruits, chili peppers, blood sausage, salted seafood, and chicken.

  • Cheoksan Foot Spa Park - The Cheoksan Hot Springs Zone features hot springs at Chocksan Spa and Cheoksan Hot Spring Resort. These hot springs are reputed to benefit those with skin diseases, eye conditions, gastroenteric disorders, and neuralgia. The waters are soft and beneficial for the skin, and drinking the water is said to enhance skin beauty and improve blood circulation. Located just 10 minutes from Seoraksan Mountain, one of Korea’s most stunning mountain ranges, the resort is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate after a hike.

  • Seoraksan Cable Car - The Seorak Cable Car offers a comfortable way to take in the breathtaking scenery of Seoraksan Mountain. The boarding station is situated in the Small Park of Seoraksan National Park. The cable car ride to Gwongeumseong Fortress (700m above sea level) takes about 10 minutes. Only round-trip tickets are available. Passengers can enjoy views of famous attractions like Ulsan Peak and Manmulsang Rocks through the cable car’s glass windows. The Gwongeumseong Fortress, which offers a panoramic view of Seoraksan Mountain’s majestic landscape, is linked to a legend where Generals Gwon and Kim built the fortress in a day to fend off invaders during the Goryeo period. Today, only the site remains, but many hikers brave the challenging path to the summit to marvel at the mountain’s unique rock formations and stunning scenery.

It is OK - It was OK if you want to spend a full day out of Seoul. Not very exciting but not boring either. The tour guide was funny and interesting.
