Gorgeous Views + Great Guide - What a unique way to explore Seoul! We enjoyed breaking a sweat and seeing the most beautiful views from the gorgeous National Park. Our guide, Kelly, was very kind and gave great fun facts & history. She made us feel comfortable on the trail and organized our timings seamlessly so we didn't have to think of a thing.

My graduation from Hiking - The view was worth the pain. The activity is highly recommended. I would like to say hi and thank you to our guide "Gabbie" I think. She was very patient and went beyond her duty. She helped us booking our KTX Train ticket. One think South Korea is still lacking is translation of signage, it will take a lot of guessing ang running around., but with people like her Korea is more fun and interested. Gabbie even made sure gave us instruction on how to get back to our Hotel from Yongsan station.

This was such an unique... - This was such an unique experience! Our guide Anna was so friendly and fun! The hike was tough and I would say you need to be experienced in hiking rough terrain so we didn't make it all the way to the temple, but we still had a good hike and walk! Our guide Anna was super sweet!

Great Climb at Bukansan! - Emily was our guide. She was friendly, helpful and informative as we moved along. As it was a climb, she paced us but adjusted to the speed that we could do. Emily is also chill, calm and relaxed, does not seem in a hurry to finish the tour. Very appreciative of her service.

Highly recommended to-do for outdoor enthusiasts - I was initially skeptical about signing up this hike. I have good fitness level however have not done any mountain hikes before, furthermore in winter and snow! But I did not want to follow the crowd to regular shopping/sightseeing tour and wanted something special. So after reading the good reviews here I decided to give it a try, and I was happy that I have made the right decision.
Mountain guide Mr. Chance Kim picked me on time at hotel. Drive took about an hour to the base of mountain and Chance’s chatty and jovial nature makes drive pleasant. He shared with me three climb route options based on individual fitness level and he assured me I can do the full hike to the 836m peak even though I have no prior climb experience based on his assessment. I trusted him and took the full hike option.
The climb was on granite rocks. Chance adjusted his climb ascent according to my pace, stopping regularly for photos. He cautioned me on slippery icy surface and showed me how to overcome difficult terrains. The last 100m was steep and needed steel cables to overcome, but it was manageable. It was all worth it when I reached the top... a fantastic view and a great sense of achievement. It took about 2 hours to reach the top.
Chance offered me hot cocoa and chocolate bar, took some quick photos before we made our way down. The descent took 90mins, stopping for some photos at the some walls built along the mountain ridges for fortification. Chance shared some historical war stories.
At the mountain base, we visited a Chinese temple and Chance explained the cultural aspects of Korea and famous personalities at the temple. Then we went for late lunch at a local shop serving authentic Korean noodles. The spicy mussels noodles was delicious. Chance also ordered another authentic black noodles and insisted that I must try, but it was too sweet for my liking.
Overall I was happy with the tour. Chance was friendly and approachable, and I trusted his professional guidance. Highly recommended for any outdoor enthusiast.

Death Hike + Skin Scrub!!! - Okay folks, if you don't hike regularly, PREPARE to experience a slight bit of misery. My partner and I rode the ol' struggle bus all 1000+ feet of elevation gain in the short 50 mins it took us to get halfway. At that point, we had experienced enough and instead of hiking for another hour up a very steep hill, we chose to hang out at the temple. Our guide, Emily, was fantastic! The ginseng shop is basically just trying to get you to buy stuff--but they take no for an answer pretty easily. The body soak and scrub are the absolute best thing on the planet!
Overall, this was a rad experience! The hike was outside my comfort zone, but I am apparently not a "real hiker." I'd much rather spend my time in the spa!!! You do get private car transport the whole way, but it can be different cars, so don't plan on leaving anything. Whatever you bring, you'll be packing it up the mountain. Also, take water!!!
