Memories for a lifetime! - What a fantastic day! We were picked up at the hotel on time by our tour guide Diego. We had 8 wonderful people in the group. Fun ride around in the open 4 x 4 and you were allowed to stand up at certain parts of the trip which was fun. We stopped for coffee and pastries, and then headed up the mountain and first did a walk along a levada that included tunnels. it was really interesting and pretty. Next stop was the Fanal forest which is cool and spooky since it’s always foggy there. Then we made our way to Porto Moniz where we ate lunch and then had time to swim in the natural pools and take pictures of this beautiful place. The last stop was at Seixal Beach where you could swim if you wanted to. they also had a bar there so we got a drink and sat in the sun. it was probably the most memorable trip we took during our vacation. On the way back, we saw several waterfalls. Just a fantastic day! Do it!!

The most fabulous day! - Don’t hesitate to do this tour! We were lucky to have Tony as our driver and guide, who looked after us all with great care. We never felt rushed and the tour timing actually exceeded the time stated. We really did feel that Tony wanted us to have the very best time and he certainly delivered on that! The off road part of the tour was fun and exhilarating plus all the stops for views were stunning. The natural swimming pools at Seixal and the beautiful enchanted terraces were wonderful. This tour was the highlight of our first visit to Madeira and we will definitely look to book again when we return and hope we have Tony as our driver and guide again!

Brilliant day - Absolutely fantastic day out and one to be remembered. Nuno was our driver and guide, you won't find better and went above and beyond. Would totally recommend, you won't be disappointed.

Superb excursion, would recommend! - This was a highlight of our holiday in Madiera. Nelson, our tour guide and driver, was brilliant. The excursion packs in loads to do and see, and it was very well timed and planned. Definitely bring your swim suit for the volcanic pools, and it is worth opting for the lunch in Porto Moniz as it is reasonably priced and you get a lot included. Nelson provided loads of interesting information along the way and is a brilliant driver. He made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. We felt that this was worth the price as we would not have been able to replicate the day ourselves with a hire car, especially not the off roading sections!

Amazing - The day was amazing! Our tour guide Louise was someone you want to hang with so fun, knowable and his driving skills were on the money! We were also blessed with enjoying the tour with some amazing people. All in all great day, book this tour you will miss out if you try to navigate it yourself, you need Louise and his colleagues, trust me.

Porto Moniz. - Excellent experience especially with a Guide of exemplary professionalism. I quote Duarte. Friendly, knows the flora of the island like no one. We visited beautiful sites and learned a lot about the plants and vegetation of the island. Thank you again Duarte and stay as you are passionate.

What an amazing day!! - We booked this trip last minute on our 2nd last day. One thing I would recommend is booking this at some point during your trip if you've not tried one before. Our only regret was that we didn't do it at the start of our holiday. The trip was a real eye opener to the real beauty that can be found on the island. Not only the various stunning locations we stopped at to visit and take photos but the journey across, up, down and through the peaks and valleys. Such beautiful scenery to enjoy. We were picked up early as agreed from our hotel in Funchal. Greeted by the smiling face of Elias who was our driver and guide for the day a gentleman who was already on board by the name of Steve. Then soon afterwards joined by another couple from another hotel a short journey away. We were then rapidly on our way. I understand these trips can be influenced heavily by the guide and your fellow passengers but we were so very lucky. Elias was amazing as was Steve who was in the passenger seat. We all laughed so much throughout the day. Had an amazing time and it really felt like a day out with a group of close friends. Finished off with a special pit stop at the end of the day.. thanks again Steve, and a few group selfies. I know you can't choose your companions but honestly it's worth the chance because everything about the day was stunning, easily the best day of our holiday and opened our eyes to the other locations on the island. This was our 1st visit to Madeira and after our tour we are already planning a return trip.. after seeing the more remote levada walks (avoiding the parked cars and crowd you always see) we want nothing more than to experience them. Just a shame we can't do it with Elias, Steve and the others. Brilliant day, amazing island. A real eye opener to what the real Madeira is like, and it's truly stunning. 100% recommended!! Great day! - Great experience! The guide was very good and spoke three languages. A unique way to explore the island. We had a great time.

Great tour even with a toddler - Absolutely loved the tour. Our 2 year old daughter was sat with us on the standard seating in the middle section of the 4x4. She was given a booster seat which was perfect. My parents were sat in the rear section of the 4x4 along with another couple. An 8th person was sat in the normal passenger seat. The tour guide was extremely informative and knowledgeable, and turned out to be extremely well versed in botany which we loved. He was kind and funny as well, and made a point of getting to know each of us and tailored the guide, where he was able, to us. The tour included some beautiful stops on the way and lots of chances for some fantastic photos. He was happy to take a couple for us as well. While I enjoyed the lunch stop near a lido I preferred out final stop at the natural rock pools. The country is absolutely stunning and the tour was a fantastic addition (even with a 2 year old!)
