3 day budget camping trip to Sossusvlei - We did a 3 day budget tour of Sossusvlei from Windhoek. Our guide Matheus was amazing. His knowledge of everything we encountered was impressive. He was very accommodating and allowed us the time to see what we wanted to see. He also made great suggestions to ensure we saw the highlights. The camping set up was pretty basic, but we have done lots of rough camping so we were completely fine with that and loved the idea of camping in Africa. Matheus worked hard to make sure we were looked after. Sesriem is the closest town to Sossusvlei and in this package it allows you to camp inside the first gate, giving you earlier access in the morning. Sesriem is a fairly long drive from Windhoek, but allows you the chance to see some amazing sites and experience natural Namibia. Sossusvlei is an incredible experience. Absolutely worth the effort to get there.

Wonderful tour! - This was an excellent tour. Leonard was a great guide and he was knowledgable, helpful, punctual and funny. He was also easygoing and accomodating. Some of the trip is long car rides, but they are fine as he was a great driver. I would book this tour again in a heartbeat!

AMAZING trip to Sossusvlei, with hiking, camping, and four wheeling! - I had an AMAZING three day journey with Leonard! We hiked sand dunes and went four wheeling and visited the ocean and camped in an amazing place (with showers, bathrooms, and plenty of hot water). We ate delicious food the entire trip, and Leonard was an amazing host. The trip included a fair bit of driving. I felt really safe in the vehicle provided and with Leonard at the wheel. He’s an excellent driver. He handled all the logistics (lodging, where to eat, pre-arranged four wheeling tour). It was so nice to experience the Namibian desert without having to worry about any of the planning details. I was a solo female traveler and I felt really safe with Leonard as my guide and everywhere we went. I’d for sure do it again.

well managed tour - 3 Days - Windhoek- Sossusvlei - Windhoek Camping Guided Safari It was well managed 3days tour for Dune 45, Big daddy, Deadvlei Sossusvlei, and Sandwich harbour. Guide: Fanuel had enough skills and experiences for this tour. He knows well about persons around the camp site of the park and it’s restaurant and thus he is reliable. He is friendly to everyone and willing to help with other travelers as well. I respect his attitude. Drive: Total driving distance of this tour was over 1,000km. And around 40% of them are gravel roads. You need to be prepared for them. But Fanuel’s drive was good because he drove safely and not too much speed. I was very comfortable with it. Scenic points: Sun set at Dune 45, Sunrise at Big daddy and view of sandwich harbor were magnificent. These are like another planet. Fanuel knew well about the timing of each points to go and thus I could smoothly see them without troubles. For example, if you see sunrise at Big daddy or Dune 45, you need to be in front of the gate at the time of gate open. To do this, you have to stay lodges or camp site inside the park. You also need 4x4 car. Fanuel well prepared for them on behalf of me, which was very convenient for me. Camp site: Although the tour was just me and the guide of Fanuel, he prepared 2 tents for each other and I could stay there comfortably. I expected the night time was freezing cold but it was okay for me. I could sleep well without problems. We had dinner at the restaurant/bar of the camp site and the food was actually very good. Overall: I will definitely recommend this tour for the person who wants to view scenic points smoothly without stress.

Beautiful Desert - The site itself was such a unique experience, a pace like no other. red sand dunes, the baked clay flats the location is just fabulous. Fanuel was outstanding at spotting animals on the drives to and from sossusvlei. My only recommendation is to provide a two-day option as there are limited activities once the site is visited.

Unprofessional Company - My friend and I recently booked a camping trip with People Tour and Safaris, and unfortunately, our experience was not what we had expected. Our guide was extremely unprofessional throughout the duration of the trip. Not only did he make us (two women) feel extremely uncomfortable with his borderline sexist remarks and weird comments, but overall just did not seem enthusiastic whatsoever about his job or the fact that he had to be there. He complained when setting up the tents, then again when we brought up the idea of building a fire. Plus, in the evenings, we noticed him drinking (alcohol), although we have since learned this is against company policy. When we raised these concerns to management after our trip had ended, they simply denied the allegations we had raised and then just stopped responding to our emails altogether. While the camping itself was enjoyable, be warned when booking with People Tour and Safari that the experience may not be exactly what you expect.
