• Sete Cidades - Sete Cidades is the name of the charming town we explore within the crater. The path we follow is particularly enchanting, adorned with hydrangeas, butterfly ginger, and various trees. We make several stops, including Lagoa do Canario, King’s View, Cerrado das Freiras, Lagoa de Santiago, and Lagoa Verde. In addition to these lakes, we are serenaded by the songs of birds, feeling a sense of tranquility. The vibrant fusion of nature’s greenery with the azure sky is breathtaking. The beauty of nature is sure to evoke a spectrum of emotions, leaving no one indifferent.
• Lagoa do Fogo - I typically begin the tour to Lagoa do Fogo from the south. Along the way, we encounter some of the most stunning vistas. The viewpoint at Miradouro da Serra da Barrosa reveals the sheer beauty of this lake, which is indescribable in words. During the tour, we pass by two geothermal power plants, visit the Salto do Cabrito waterfall, and the Natural Monument of Caldeira Velha.
• Furnas - On my way to Furnas, I take pleasure in showcasing Ribeira Grande, my hometown and the second-largest city on the island. We stop at Santa Iria and offer travelers the chance to visit the tea plantations. Then we proceed to Pico do Ferro, where visitors can gaze upon Furnas from above, including the lake and the town. This town is home to 23 distinct springs, and travelers have the opportunity to sample some of them. We also explore the fumarole park in Furnas. If weather conditions sometimes obscure certain sites, I always have an alternative beautiful spot to share. Travelers are guaranteed a memorable experience.
