Unreal experience - We had such an incredible time with Pedro! He customized our tour and it was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Portugal. The black sand beaches, views from the top of the mountains and of course the pineapple plantations were unreal. This far exceeded my expectations, especially because he’s local and so passionate about what he does. His personality is so warm and friendly as well that I would definitely wish to come back soon!

I was traveling solo and didn’t want to rent a car during my 7 days on the island. My first visit to Sao Miguel was on a repositioning cruise. The ship excursion tour had been woefully inadequate because 90% of it was boring-just riding down a highway with a guide droning facts. As I planned my second visit, I wanted to get off the main roads, experience raw nature, and do far more than stop occasionally to appreciate a beautiful scene. Because I didn’t want a rental car, I needed someone who would help me have the experience I desired. Thank goodness I found Pedro, owner of Azorean Guide. He was the perfect guide. He drives a four wheel jeep. Pedro listened -then he delivered. I hired Pedro for two days. Those days were the highlight of my vacation. He is kind, engaging, intelligent, and flexible. Pedro understood that I wanted to get away from crowds. We were on a secondary road within minutes of leaving Ponta Delgada then later climbed higher and higher on a dirt road to the rim of the Sete Cidades volcano. Our 4 wheel drive vehicle was the only vehicle up there with the birds, flowers, and vegetation. It was amazing, and the views were terrific. What an experience. That was just one outstanding experience with Pedro. At the end of two days, we had been from one end of the island to the other, I had dipped in a thermal pool, seen waterfalls, and enjoyed two delicious meals in family owned restaurants. Don’t hesitate to book with Pedro. You’ll see a side of Sao Miguel that’s impossible to see in a regular car. If you will be visiting on a cruise ship, skip the shore excursions sponsored by cruise lines. Book with Pedro!

Gorgeous Day - What an amazing day we had with Pedro, seeing so many beautiful sights! From the initial email to book the tour to meeting Pedro was seemless. Perfect guide - Wonderful tour. Comfy jeep. Guide had perfect English. Showed us everything promised and much more. He was filled with local knowledge and lore. Educational and fun day. Delicious local lunch. He accommodated all our special request. We are returning next year and will definitely book again.

Great tour, with a great guide! 10/10 - Pedro drove us in his 4x4 car all around the Sete Cidades Lake and the west side of the island, driving over agricultural paths that only locals know. He told us really interesting stories, explained everything in detail, and gave us great recommendations. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, he did his best to ensure that we could see nice views. He even added an extra stop to the tour that was not planned! If you are visiting São Miguel, do not hesitate to contact him!!

Fantastic jeep tour for whole of family. - Fantastic personalised tour, catering for family of 5, ages 10 to 50. Pedro was so welcoming and informative. We learned alot about history and nature of islands, going off road where we would never drive, the boys loved this experience. Pedro also organised that we could go biking and took us to a spot for a dip/jump in ocean pools at end of the day. This was a brilliant way of starting our week and a holiday highlight. So relaxing as Pedro did all the planning/driving and you can sit back and take in all the stunning scenary. I highly recommend.

The best guide with 4wd in the Azores - We had a beautiful day with Pedro. His 4WD vehicle was able to go off road to places we had never seen before. Coincidentally our last guide to the Azores was with his Uncle. Both are awesome. Due to fog we were unable to see the Sete Cicades from offroad but we ended up at the S. Nicolau church where we walked around the cute town. We then drove to see the green and the blue lake. Pedro shared the folklore of the area. We had a delicious lunch with the best dessert - a queijadas da vila at Restaurante Lagoa Azul. Next stop was Mosteiros and it was lovely. We drove back through pretty towns looking at homes for sale before stopping in a local grocery to try to get more of the delicious desserts to take home. Pedro was awesome and we can't wait to return again to tour with him

Unique experience with a great guide - We had a pleasure of spending 5 days with Pedro. It was absolutely unique and memorable experience: amazing views, swimming in an ocean heated by natural springs, great food -just to name a few. We spoke to several people who went to this area with different guides or by rental car and they were all surprised how many more highlights we saw.
