• about two hours away from Placencia.

From there, we’ll turn off into the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve and pass through mahogany groves and orchards. When we arrive at the trail, you’ll hike through the lush jungle for about 45 minutes before arriving at the caves.

Finally, you’ll gear up before entering the caves where you’ll spend the next three hours hiking, swimming, and exploring this sacred cave formation.

This tour is considered to be a moderate to hard intensity level tour. You’ll need to be able to:

• Walk easily on flat and uneven surfaces.
• Cross the river through moderately fast currents (while holding on to a rope).
• Climb through the rocks and tight spaces in the cave.
  Pictures are not permitted inside the caves and cameras are not allowed.

Begin your journey with a scenic drive to the charming village of Teakettle. Proceed to the abundant Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve, passing through majestic mahogany plantations and fruit orchards. Upon reaching the hiking trail, journey through the verdant jungle for around 45 minutes until you reach the caverns. Prepare yourself with the necessary equipment before venturing into the caves, where the subsequent three hours will be spent hiking, swimming, and delving into the sacred cave structure with the guidance of your tour guide.
