Additional Information

Explore Seville’s preeminent landmark, the Seville Cathedral, around which the city was built.

The Cathedral has acted as the city’s pulsating center since its inception as a mosque in 1198. The transformation into a cathedral was decided upon after Seville came under Christian governance, a move designed to flaunt the city’s affluence. The legend suggests that the original architects wished for the outside world to consider them “insane” for undertaking such an ambitious project.

Constructed in 1507, the Cathedral stands as the world’s largest Gothic cathedral! The renowned Giralda bell tower, with its base surviving from the original 1198 mosque, majestically soars above the city’s panorama.

Essential if you visit Seville - Totally recommended visit. Our guide Alberto made us see and appreciate, in an enjoyable and entertaining way, the beautiful cathedral, its details and anecdotes about its history.

Excellent - Ismael was an excellent guide. Learnt so much from him. We got in easily (and there were long queues outside!) He gave us a full tour with a lot of relevant and interesting information. Best guide I have had. We were quite a few of us in the group but he managed to keep us all together .we went up the tower and around the cathedral. As it was semana Santa we also saw two floats which were beautiful. Would highly recommend this tour, rather than trying to visit yourself and ask for Ismael!

This is the best way to see the cathedral - Nothing in particular. Alberto explained things very well though. Skipping the line is a definite must.

Interesting tour and must see cathedral - Tour guide was excellent but had to deal with office staff and found the lady unhelpful . Was not a pleasant interaction unfortunately . However the tour was very good and the guide was very knowledgable and efficient .

Disappointed - The cathedral was beautiful and Maria was very good. However both of our headsets did not work which ruined the tour. We tried to stay close to Maria so we could hear the explanations of what we were seeing. The tour company needs to invest in headsets that work. Disappointed!

Good but maybe too large a group tour - Skip the line part is valuable especially during the Holy Week. However, 30 people group is too large even with an earbud when going from room to room and not always seeing where the tour guide was pointing to. Our particular tour also was delayed for around 10 minutes (in chilly rain) as the operator was waiting for more walk-ins to fill up the slots. It’s also a bit rush going from spot to spot. I highly recommend smaller size groups (no more than 10 people) and there is a reasonable amount of interaction possible. The English is so so.

Beware cancellations - Oversold tour. Cancelled my “confirmed” tickets. Viator left us high and dry with no other options to do a tour.
