Quintessential Alaska!! - Incredible experience! We had absolutely perfect weather, which made the helicopter flight so beautiful both to and from the glacier. The time with the huskys was so precious. Much praise and cuddles, which we loved. We also enjoyed learning and seeing each dog's personality both during our up-close interactions and during the ride. (King, Georgia, Yogi, Daisy..etc...loved them all! ) And it was so impressive to hear the Iditarod stories for those on our team who had run the race numerous times. Can't wait to follow the dogs and the Turning Heads Kennel team in future races! The mushers, pilots, office staff were all so kind and helpful! Thank you!!

Best Birthday Extravaganza Ever! - My husband and I traveled to Alaska for my first time over my birthday in late July. I booked the first time slot for the Godwin Glacier Dog Sledding on my actual birthday. Reading other Trip Advisor reviews, I knew in advance that the weather in Alaska can change drastically day to day, so I purposedly left the rest of the day open if it had to be rescheduled later. Fortunately for us, we were a go on the first helicopter flight up to the glacier. It was a cloudy morning with low clouds but no showers. The flight was so smooth and breathtaking. We rose out of the clouds and ventured in the mountains. Smooth landing on top of the glacier. We were escorted to our dog team of around 13 Alaskan huskies and met our musher, Meg. Wow, what a thrill ride dog sledding on a glacier. The sun was out for half of our journey so we were able to view the majesty of the mountains. Meg was an awesome musher. She was so informative and answered any of our questions. The dog mushers and crew live on the glacier during the summer, taking care of the dogs, running the tours and live in very small living quarters. The dogs are actual Iditarod dog sledders from different companies that spend their summers at Godwin glacier. You are really getting the Iditarod experience! We actually spent quite a bit of time sledding with breaks in between. The dogs were all super friendly, a few shyer than others, but very approachable and sweet. When our dog mushing was over, we had lots of time to visit the other dogs on the property that will have their chance to mush in other tours. Lastly, we visited the puppy pen. Beware, these pups are super adorable but they are teething big time. I even had one bite the back of my leg, yikes, but it didn’t break skin. Super cute but beware! We had the same helicopter pilot for our journey back. I’m so sorry but I did not get his name but he is originally from Switzerland. He learned it was my birthday so he gave us a bit of an extra scenic ride around the mountains on our return back to Seward. It was spectacular! He’s a fantastic pilot. This was definitely a highlight of our trip and it really made my birthday special! This is a top-notch company. Yes, it is expensive but so worth the cost!

Highlight of our Alaska Trip - Truly a highlight of our Alaska cruise. Helicopter ride to the glacier was amazingly beautiful. Landing on the glacier was awesome. Sled ride with the dogs was exhilarating. And cuddle time with the puppies was the best. Expensive, but highly recommend.

This is a must do!!!!!! - OMG we spent two weeks in Alaska, and this was the high point of the trip. A 100% must do. The location was great, very clean and very professional. We did not feel rush at any point and the dog camp and getting to ride on the back of the sled was way more than we could have hoped. Yes you do get to stand on the back and drive the sled. On the way down they took us out of way to see a bull moose that they had spotted. The expense is well worth the expense of this excursion

Once in a lifetime experience - This was possibly the highlight of our entire trip. Shelby, our helicopter pilot, took us to the top of Godwin Glacier where we met up with the team of sled dogs who live on top of the glacier. We spent about 60 minutes on the glacier where we got to play with the dogs as well as take a dog sled trip around on the top of the glacier. It was a beautiful experience not only with the dogs but to stand on top of Godwin Glacier. The views were incredible and the weather could not have been better.
