Baltra and South Plaza Islands
Baltra - Upon arrival in Baltra, there will be an immediate transfer to the nearby dock to board Yacht La Pinta. After an introductory briefing onboard, guests will participate in an emergency boat drill, be assigned to their cabins, and then invited to lunch. The yacht will set anchor and begin the journey to the next adventure.
South Plaza Island - The turquoise waters of the channel here contrast beautifully with the white sand beach and volcanic rocks along the shoreline. A carpet of scarlet-colored sesuvium succulents lies at the base of a large cluster of luminescent-green prickly-pear cacti. Yellow-greyish land iguanas can be seen crawling around this scene. Along the coastline, guests will walk by sea lion colonies while seabirds play along the cliffs of this small but spectacular island.
Santa Fe and San Cristobal Island
Santa Fe Island - A dinghy ride from Yacht La Pinta takes guests to this idyllic white-sand beach, home to colonies of sea lions. Galapagos hawks are often easily observed here, typically perched atop the salt bushes. The brilliantly yellow Santa Fe land iguana, exclusive to this island, might also be spotted during the walk. After the walk, guests can choose to swim and snorkel along a natural wave barrier.
Galapaguera de Cerro Colorado - After lunch, guests will disembark at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the archipelago’s capital city. Following this, a 40-minute drive will take them to the island’s southern shore. At Cerro Colorado, they will visit the Breeding Center for the highly-endangered giant tortoises that roam a fantastic deciduous forest. This forest is also home to dozens of bird species, including the San Cristobal mockingbird and the San Cristobal lava lizard.
San Cristobal Island
Punta Pitt - In the morning, guests will land at the eastern tip of San Cristobal Island. The trail ascending from the beach offers spectacular views of the shoreline, allowing guests to observe frigatebirds and a colony of bachelor sea lions. After the walk, there will be an opportunity to swim along the beach and snorkel, weather permitting.
Cerro Brujo - After lunch, a dinghy ride along the shores will take guests to Cerro Brujo’s expansive, white coral beach. This is an excellent site for walking, with rewarding birdwatching opportunities featuring plenty of seabirds and shorebirds. Galapagos sea lions will also be present. Historical Fact: These are the same shores that Charles Darwin walked along in September of 1835.
Española Island
Punta Suarez - The morning outing at Punta Suárez offers an exciting walk across lava terrain to visit the unique seabird colonies in this area. Waved albatrosses (visible from April until January), boobies, swallow-tailed gulls, and the famous “blowhole” geological formation await! Guests should also keep an eye out for the red-green-black marine iguanas. Many consider this site one of the best in all Galapagos. Afterwards, guests will return onboard for lunch.
Gardner Bay - In the afternoon, guests will disembark at this beautiful, white coral beach for a short walk to observe the sea lions, mockingbirds, and finches. They can also choose to simply enjoy the beach. There is excellent snorkeling in this area. Alternatively, guests can opt to kayak or take a ride aboard the glass-bottom boat.
Santa Cruz and Baltra Islands
Charles Darwin Research Station - After disembarking at the Puerto Ayora docks in the morning, guests will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station and have the opportunity to explore the breeding program for giant tortoises. They will also gain insight into the efforts and progress made by the Foundation and National Park in terms of conservation. Afterwards, a bus will take them across Santa Cruz Island to the opposite coast. Once there, a short ferry ride will take them across the channel to Baltra Island and then to the airport. This Galapagos journey concludes at Baltra Island, where guests will board their flight back to the mainland. Baltra’s flat substrate, due to its tectonically uplifted origin, was the reason this island was chosen in the 1940s as the site for an airport.

We’re thrilled to welcome you on this exploration of some of the Galapagos’ most stunning islands. Our shared journey kicks off on Baltra Island, previously a WWII military base, now an active station for the Ecuadorian navy and air force. Once all procedures are finalized, we move east following North Seymour and Santa Cruz Islands’ volcanic coastlines until we arrive at the Plazas Islands. The adventures begin with a dry disembarkation at a human-made dock on South Plaza Island. The following day, we’ll take a deep dive into Santa Fe Island and San Cristobal Island, the latter being the provincial capital of the Galapagos province. Subsequently, we set sail to the south towards Española Island, boasting the well-loved visitor hotspot, Punta Suarez. There, you’ll trek across a rocky coast teeming with marine iguanas, sea lions, various sea birds, and even albatrosses for a significant part of the year.
