Highlights
  • Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque - BLUE MOSQUE SELANGOR IS MALAYSIA’S LARGEST MOSQUE AND WIDELY CONSIDERED TO BE ONE OF ITS MOST BEAUTIFUL. DRAWING ITS NAME FROM ITS IMPRESSIVE BLUE AND SILVER DOME, THE MOSQUE HAS FOUR MINARETS MERGING BOTH MALAY AND MODERNIST INFLUENCES INTO ITS DISTINCTIVE ARCHITECTURE.

THIS MOSQUE IS LOCATED IN THE SELANGOR’S CAPITAL CITY OF SHAH ALAM. IT IS MALAYSIA’S LARGEST MOSQUE AND THE SECOND LARGEST IN ALL OF SOUTHEAST ASIA AND, NOT SURPRISINGLY, IS THE CITY OF SHAH ALAMS MOST POPULAR TOURIST ATTRACTION. THE MOSQUE’S 51.2M DIAMETER IS THE LARGEST RELIGIOUS DOME IN THE WORLD AND THE FOUR 142.3M MINARETS ARE ALSO THE TALLEST IN THE WORLD. THIS MOSQUE HAS AN IMPRESSIVE MAXIMUM CAPACITY OF 24,000 PEOPLE!

IT IS NOT SURPRISING THAT SUCH A LARGE MOSQUE IS VISIBLE FROM MANY POINTS OF THE KUALA LUMPUR AND ITSELF OFFERS BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE LANDSCAPED GARDEN OF ISLAMIC ARTS WHICH IT OVERLOOKS. THE MOSQUE ISN’T DIFFICULT TO LOCATE GIVEN ITS IMPOSING STATURE AND CENTRAL SHAH ALAM LOCATION AT THE END OF PERSIARAN MASJID APPROXIMATELY 40 MINUTES’ DRIVE FROM KL CITY CENTRE.

Great experience! - This was a very beautiful experience. This mosque was splendid. The mosque’s name is Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque; also known as the blue mosque, it was closed to visitors when we arrived, but because we are Muslim we were allowed in to go inside with security and pay our respects. If you are Muslim and end up at the mosque when visitor hours are closed, you just have to speak with the visitor center and let them know you’re Muslim - as a Muslim, you’ll know what to say. The people at the mosque were kind and generous, the mosque reminds me of the blue mosque in turkey. The architecture was magnificent. After the mosque, we went to the batu caves and paid our respect to our ancestors faith, Hinduism, correctly considered Sanātana Dharma, teachings of morals/values/ethics. The batu caves were amazing, the literal natural beauty is breathtaking. This tour takes care of the logistics of getting to both places - no real guide to walk you through the sites, but you can read about these two places online before going and then enjoy the walk around and take in the sites as opposed to being talked to constantly. Very good experience overall!! Very thankful! The driver/guide was very kind and patient with us! We got along very well!

Great - We recommend to see the massive blue mosque at least once when you visit to KL. The tour guide explained us the blue mosque and muslim easily. We could understand the history and the life style of them.

Great - Both the mosque and caves were amazing places to visit. We had a guided tour of the mosque which was great. The driver/guide was friendly but you are left to look around on your own. Which was great for us as we like looking at stuff at our own pace.

Pls be careful of the opening date and time that the place you would want to go. If not, it wouldnt worth it. - Not sure that the tour knows about that the mosque opens only every Friday morning. They requested to shifted to go afternoon but it was the same that the mosque already closed when we arrived there. Plan was not going well but the driver is nice and friendly.
