Additional Information

A key attraction of Shahrisabz is the mountain passage and the countryside of Uzbekistan. Initially, the journey begins with vineyards, fruit trees and vegetable fields. Gradually, the altitude shifts and the lush fields give way to hilly landscapes, eventually leading to rocky ranges. An exceptional sight to witness is the ‘Teshik Tosh’ or the ‘Rock with the Hole’, a splendid creation of mother earth. Interestingly, the iconic film ‘Apachen’, featuring the renowned Gojko Mitic, was filmed here due to its striking similarity with the American Southwest prairie.

The day trip to Shahrisabz - Shakhrisabz's majestic mountains captivated me during my trip. The towering peaks and rugged landscapes left me in awe. The mountains in Shakhrisabz offer a breathtaking backdrop for exploration and adventure. The crisp mountain air, coupled with the panoramic views, created an unforgettable experience. If you're a nature enthusiast seeking awe-inspiring beauty, Shakhrisabz's mountains are a must-visit destination.

Nice trip - The service offered is just a driver. He could give some basic instructions in English. The drive took about 2 hours one way, went through a beautiful landscape, and included some interesting photo stops. The sights in Shahrisabz are not as spectacular as at other places in Uzbekistan but still worth seeing. For me, it was a relaxing and enjoyable trip before my flight back to Europe the next day.

I am not happy with this place because of season. - We went there on August 2019. This season is not okay for this place. Very hot weather in this time and no better view.

Too hot in Summer. - The climate was extremely hot and the AC in the car was very bad. The driver switched off the AC many times. If the trip started in the afternoon and ended by sunset it would have been better as the days are very very hot and we were boiling inside the car. The driver was a very good man and he was very courteous. Only issue is that he doesn't speak English.

Terrible - The whole "tour" consists in a Russian speaking taxi driver coming to pick you up from your hotel and driving you to Shahrisabz. You can find something WAY cheaper just stopping a taxi driver in Samarkand by yourself. We were supposed to have a tour in English and all we got was this old guy who did not understand a word. Avoid this!
