Bir Shalatin’s camel market is the most significant and extensive in Egypt. The beasts, imported from Sudan, are shipped in hefty vehicles to the town, providing a vibrant scene for excellent photography. We arrange to pick you up from your hotel, with Shalatin as our direct destination. Post lunch at a pleasant eatery, we proceed with our journey to commune with nature. If you’re familiar with ‘Asterix and Obelix’ adventures, the distinct rocks lining our route may remind you of menhirs. You’re welcome to take brief walks to familiarize with this exemplar of ‘Nature’s architecture’. We follow a sandy route flanked with menhirs of diverse forms in our 4x4 vehicles, where you might spot a young shepherdess in vibrant attire, tending to her sheep, living the nomadic tradition. Lastly, we make our way back to the hotel via the Coastal Road, presenting the unique juxtaposition of desert and sea.
