There are many scenic spots around people’s square, such as the new Municipal Government Mansion, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Grand Theater and the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. Along the south side of the People’s Avenue, there are several large underground structures, including Hong Kong Famous Brands Street and Dimei Shopping Center, the largest underground city transformer substation of Asia and the largest underground parking garage of Shanghai. -
Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall - Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall was built to show the achievement of the city planning and construction. The main body of the building covers Shanghai’s development from ancient times to the present and beyond. There is a city model made in a scale of 1/500, total 600 square meters, the largest in the world.
Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall will be closed for adjustment from December 1st 2019. The reopening date will be announced. We may visit Shanghai Museum instead. - Shanghai History Museum - Shanghai History Museum is located in People’s Square area, Shanghai history Museum is large Museum of Shanghai local history, from ancient time to modern era. There, you can see more than 400 cultural relics which witness Shanghai 6000 years civilization.
- Hotel Park Hotel Shanghai - Park Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Shanghai. It was the tallest building ever in Shanghai. Here is used as the central origin of Shanghai urban coordinate axis. Park Hotel is considered an architectural milestone that lends a touch of historic charm to the animated cityscape.
- Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road) - Nanjing Road is considered to be the ‘No. 1 commercial street in China’, which has been a landmark for this city for a long time. Along its 5.5 kilometers, you will find over 600 shops that on average are visited by some 1.7 million people each day. Here, you could purchase everything wanted, spanning from special and cheap souvenirs to the luxurious world famous brands.

Jing’an Temple - Jing’an Temple is one of the most famous temples in Shanghai which is located at West Nanjing Road, the flourishing downtown area of Shanghai.
Jing’an Temple is a good place to escape the hustle and bustle of crowds in downtown Shanghai. In the meantime, you can enjoy the marvellous painting and calligraphy by Yangzhou’s Eight Eccentric Painters in the Exhibition Hall of Buddhist Relics. An important display of this temple is the bronze bell which was made in the Ming Dynasty. - The Bund (Wai Tan) - The Bund is a famous waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai. Here, the charm of Shanghai as a bustling metropolis combining the century-old history and flourishing future is fully presented, making the Bund Shanghai a must-see attraction. We will see the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles at the Bund. Such as Peace Hotel, Shanghai Customs House and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. Others, we will enjoy the scenery on both sides of Huangpu river.
- Huangpu River - The best way to appreciate Huangpu River is to take a ship cruising on the river. During the general journey of around 50 minutes, you can enjoy the sights on both sides of the river from a broad view on the cruise ship.
- Yuyuan Old Street - Shanghai Old Street, historically called Miaoqian Dajie, is an old business street that has a combination of tourist attractions, shops, entertainment and cultural exhibits. It owes its special social attractions and rich commercial background to the fact that the earliest bank, gold shop, jeweler’s store, wine shop and tea house of the city were all to be found here. Visiting the old alleys of Shanghai is a great way to discover the traditional culture of this city and experience the real life of the Shanghainese.

Near the end of the tour, you will get to tour a large Buddhist Temple and take a ferry ride out on the river for a cruise.
