Additional Information

In 1969, the group known as the Swampers established the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, and it didn’t take long for renowned recording artists from around the globe to seek them out for their unique sound that made a lasting impact on American music. Thanks to the benefaction from Beats Electronics, this legendary studio has been meticulously refurbished. With its vintage gear in the upstairs control room and the distinct orange carpet in the Swampers’ downstairs party room, the studio is an exact replica of how it appeared during its golden era from 1969 to 1978. Step into the bathroom where Keith Richards perfected Wild Horses, or sit at the piano where Paul Simon composed Kodachrome.

Studio with so much History - We were told the Muscle Shoals Studio tour was the best and it was! We only had 3 people in our party so it was very private. Chase did an excellent job answering all of our questions and giving us the scoop. The Stones, Seger, Rod Stewart, Skynyrd, Cher and many other famous musicians have recorded here. The place is old and has many of the original instruments used. A must for any rock and roller!

Wonderful experience - Truly a highlight of our road trip from New Orleans through Memphis and Nashville. Standing in the studio where all of those legendary recordings were made was almost a spiritual experience. What made the tour even more special was our guide Terrell. His knowledge, passion and his own history with the studio and the people who made it what it is was exceptional.

Utterly amazing place - loved it! - One of the best experiences on our road trip - I was so looking forward to this visit and it exceeded all my expectations. Jase (hope that's spelled correctly) gave us a really great time. If you were around in the 70s, the music recorded here will be part of you - and if you are a Stones fan, like me, this is the Holy Grail... but even my son loved it. If you can get here, don't miss it!

Just go!! - We just completed an almost 2 week trip from our home in NC to Texas to see the solar eclipse. If you ask my husband he will say the highlight of the whole trip was visiting this studio!! So very much history in these walls. Our tour guide (whose name I’ve unfortunately forgotten) was outstanding. He had so many wonderful stories to tell about “the Swampers” and all the artists who recorded there. We had toured the Fame studio earlier in the morning and it seemed the right order to see things. Well worth your time!

What an unbelievable... - What an unbelievable tour. This small building produced the best music in the world. The tour guide made you feel like you were with the Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Segar, Cher - did I miss someone. A must see.
