- Roppongi Hills, Shop & Restaurant - As you travel, you’ll pass the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, which houses numerous prestigious international companies, upscale shopping, and exquisite dining options.
- Rainbow Bridge - During the journey, you’ll cross the Tokyo Rainbow Bridge, offering views that are simply divine, spectacular, and awe-inspiring. While there are many places to view Tokyo at night, this particular view is exclusive to those in a car, and it is truly remarkable!
On one side, you’ll witness a stunning cityscape filled with lights, and on the other, the equally impressive lights of Odaiba Island, featuring the remarkable Fuji TV building.
- Odaiba District - While crossing the Tokyo Rainbow Bridge, you’ll enjoy fantastic views of Odaiba, a man-made island featuring residential buildings, shopping, and leisure activities. You’ll have the opportunity to see the unique Fuji TV building, among others.
- Koto - TIME includes a 25-minute ride to Autobacs and 25 minutes at the location.
A stop will be made at the A PIT Autobacs store, Autobacs’ flagship location, which is a delight to explore for all things car-related. In an era of online shopping, it’s refreshing to see these accessories and parts in person. There’s something special about brick-and-mortar stores.
- Tatsumi 1st PA - TIME includes a quick 10-minute hop to Tatsumi and a 15-minute rest at the location.
A 15-minute break will be taken at Tatsumi PA, a popular stop for car enthusiasts making loops on the highway or preparing to head to or return from Daikoku PA.
This is an iconic photo location from the GT video game and a spawn point in Assetto Corsa.
- Tokyo Skytree - While traveling to Daikoku along the Furukawa Line, you’ll enjoy fabulous views of the Tokyo Skytree, one of the tallest structures in the world.
- Haneda Airport Terminal 2 Departure Area Airport Lounge - The journey will pass through Haneda Airport via tunnels beneath the runways. If the timing is right, you might see airliners taxiing above as you enter the tunnels.
- Yokohama Bay Bridge - Just before reaching Daikoku PA, you’ll be treated to an amazing view of the Yokohama Bay Bridge and the Yokohama skyline. Yokohama is a major cruise ship stop, and you might even spot some.
- Daikoku Parking Area - TIME includes a 40-minute, conversation-filled ride to Daikoku and a 60-minute stop at the location.
As you head towards your final destination, you’ll take the Wangan Highway, a long, straight road connecting Tokyo and Yokohama, made famous by the street racing escapades of the ‘90s and a manga aptly named Wangan Midnight.
Since then, it has served as the artery connecting key epicenters of Japanese car culture.
Daikoku PA is an unassuming parking area that has been a hub for nightly car gatherings for decades.
You’ll see iconic JDM machines ranging from stock classics to wild time attack builds, drift machines to Kaido Racers, and from obscure to highly popular. There’s likely something for everyone.
You’ll also find plenty of Euro metal and American muscle. If you’re lucky, you might see supercars, vintage classics, lowriders, and hot rods.
Throughout the journey, you’ll be immersed in stories about car culture and life in Japan.
- Minatomirai - On the return journey, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of the Yokohama city skyline, Minatomirai area, and Yokohama Port.
- Rainbow Bridge - One of the best views of the Tokyo city skyline is from the car when crossing the Rainbow Bridge from the Odaiba side to Tokyo… breathtaking.
- Tokyo Tower - Seeing the Tokyo Tower from the C1 Loop Highway at night is an incredible experience.
- Shibuya - TIME reflects the ride back from Daikoku to Shibuya, with views of Minatomirai, Tokyo Tower, and Tokyo from the Rainbow Bridge.
On the return to Shibuya, you’ll have more opportunities to enjoy the stunning night views of Yokohama and Tokyo.
Crossing the Tokyo Rainbow Bridge from the Odaiba side to Tokyo offers one of the most spectacular views of the Tokyo skyline.
The drive back will take 45-60 minutes, providing even more opportunities to capture photos and videos while engaging in enjoyable conversations about cars, people, and life in Japan.
