There is a large free parking lot and is popular as a rest area of the touring of a bicycle and the motorcycle.

- Chureito Pagoda - The Chureito Pagoda is at the top of the 398 stone steps from the bottom. You can go up to the Pagoda by car, but it would be a good idea to enjoy the view of Mt.Fuji while going up the stone steps. Owaku-dani Valley - The result of a volcanic eruption over 3,000 years ago, Owakudani is a volcanic valley with active sulfur vents and hot springs. This area is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Hakone due to its volcanic activity and striking scenic views—you can even catch an amazing view of Mt. Fuji on a clear day.
About a 10-minute walk from the ropeway station is the main volcanic zone, where you will find steam vents and bubbling pools. You can purchase hard-boiled eggs cooked in the volcanically hot waters. With shells blackened by a chemical reaction with the hot spring water, these eggs are said to extend your life by seven years. Although the shell is black, the inside is a normal boiled egg -
Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba - Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba is a village of traditional thatched-roof houses situated on the shore of Lake Saiko, beneath the gaze of World Heritage-listed Mt. Fuji.
In spring, the cherry blossoms all come into bloom at once, dyeing the village cherry blossom pink.
Summer is deep green, when babbling brooks and highland breezes bring refreshing coolness.
Autumn is a gorgeous season with the trees changing to vivid reds and yellows.
And in winter, the entire village becomes blanketed in snow. -
Lake Ashinoko - Go for a ride on one of the pirate ships run by Hakone Sightseeing Boats, and you’ll be treated to some amazing scenery. Stopping at the ports of Moto-Hakone, Togendai, and Hakone-machi, you can sightsee and visit attractions on the lakeshore.
If you would rather explore the lake at a more leisurely pace, there are also swan paddle boats available for hire. - Gotemba Premium Outlets - The Gotemba Premium Outlets are Japan’s most popular outlet mall, located in Gotemba City at the base of Mount Fuji, not far from Hakone. The mall features around 300 stores and restaurants, a food court, a 50 meter high Ferris wheel, a hotel and a public hot spring bath.
The stores found at the Premium Outlets are the outlets of internationally known brands of fashion, sports, food, household goods and electronics, and range from everyday items to luxury goods. The prices are not ridiculously cheap, but they are better on average than what you will find at regular retail shops in Japan. Overall it is a nice place for a day of shopping, with a lot of variety and reasonable prices.
