Additional Information

In this 3-hour Shibuya Food Tour, you will not need a Shibuya map or Shibuya travel guide. We show our guests the delicious side of Shibuya, a place more known for being at the forefront of culture and fashion, and rarely known for its food. People always ask where to go in Shibuya. Of course, there is the Shibuya crossing location and most people know that Shibuya is close to Harajuku but Shibuya restaurants either cater to tourists or they cater to the locals. We want to show our guests the places to go in Shibuya, the places the locals go, so the next time they visit they can do as a local does. Experience a part of Shibuya that no tourist will ever see on their own with the most delicious food only locals usually get to taste. Get the chance to try different amazing dishes and traditional desserts! Nestled in the back alleys, these places are an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss.

A Great Introduction to Food in Shibuya - A great way to kickoff my time in Japan. Paul was a fun guide who oriented us to Shibuya and Tokyo, shared some of its history, and and showed us a wide variety of food from different restaurants. And we got plenty to eat!

Fresh off the plane food tour - Daniel was a great guide for a fabulous first night private tour. Got to taste a bunch of different things without having to figure out where to go in our jet lagged haze. Also got to see the crossing from Daniel’s favorite easy perch, some 3d signs and get a good orientation to Shibuya and get our feet under us for our 3 week stay!!

Best night with Saika! - Our food tour with Saika was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan! She took us to a number of local food spots in Shibuya where we got a deliciously authentic taste of Japanese cuisine. We didn’t stop laughing the whole tour and had a lovely, informative evening. Thank you Saika!

Like an evening out with friends - This food tour was so much fun - like hanging out with a good friend. Serena was very knowledgeable and friendly — great food, lively conversation…couldn’t ask for more. There was only one other person with us so we received all her attention. 3 foods stood out for me: the ramen at the first stop, the salmon sushi topped w/seared mayo (it was divine—who knew mayo could taste like that and on top of salmon!?), and the okonomiyaki — I flipped it perfectly on the griddle to great applause from the staff there. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and will definitely recommend it to any family and friends traveling to Japan. Bravo! Thanks Serena, for a wonderful experience.

Fun! Educational! Delicious! - One of our favorite tours of the entire trip. Our guide Shigeki was fantastic. He took us to places we would never have known about and made sure everything we saw (and ate!) was special. Highest recommendation for the guide and this company!

Amazing food tasting! - We took the Shibuya food tour with Vanessa. It was our introduction to Japan's amazing food world. We got to experience a wonderful variety of foods while touring around typical eateries through the iconic area of Shibuya. Vanessa took us through allies, small eateries and an izakaya to enjoy all kinds of typical dishes and drinks while learning customs behind the japanese tradition. Vanessa did a great job as she lead the tour very smoothly through all the food stops and she was as knowledgeable as any native of the japanese culture. We had a great time, had plenty of food and learned a lot about Japan.

A delicious afternoon! - Despite the August heat and humidity, we had a wonderful guide with us. Saika was absolute fire. She was funny, shared lots of knowledge and cultural insights and information. Our 11-year old had a great time too! We went to delicious and off-the-beaten path places that we otherwise would have never found but for the tour. Even though it is pricey, the experience was worth it!

Too Pricey for What you Get - I thought this tour was overpriced for what was provided in both the meal menu and guide service. Our meal included a bowl of ramen, 8 pieces of Nigiri Sushi, a vegetable egg dish topped with bacon, chicken wings, gyoza, sliced cucumber and bean cake dessert. For the amount that we paid for this tour, I could have spent considerable less money if I would have dined on my own.
