Additional Information

In this 3-hour Shibuya Food Tour, you will not need a Shibuya map or Shibuya travel guide. We show our guests the delicious side of Shibuya, a place more known for being at the forefront of culture and fashion, and rarely known for its food. People always ask where to go in Shibuya. Of course, there is the Shibuya crossing location and most people know that Shibuya is close to Harajuku but Shibuya restaurants either cater to tourists or they cater to the locals. We want to show our guests the places to go in Shibuya, the places the locals go, so the next time they visit they can do as a local does. Experience a part of Shibuya that no tourist will ever see on their own with the most delicious food only locals usually get to taste. Get the chance to try different amazing dishes and traditional desserts! Nestled in the back alleys, these places are an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss.

Amazing food tasting! - We took the Shibuya food tour with Vanessa. It was our introduction to Japan's amazing food world. We got to experience a wonderful variety of foods while touring around typical eateries through the iconic area of Shibuya. Vanessa took us through allies, small eateries and an izakaya to enjoy all kinds of typical dishes and drinks while learning customs behind the japanese tradition. Vanessa did a great job as she lead the tour very smoothly through all the food stops and she was as knowledgeable as any native of the japanese culture. We had a great time, had plenty of food and learned a lot about Japan.

You definitely won't need to get dinner after! - The guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful. Even before the tour started she helped me find the meetup spot. There was tons of good food, with a pretty wide variety, including great introduction to izakayas. There's a substantial amount of food on this tour, it's not just small tastings. You won't leave unsatisfied!

A feast for all the senses - an excellent food tour - I booked this tour some months go after reading the excellent reviews others had written on TripAdvisor and was it one bit disappointed. Our guide Saika was wonderfully knowledgeable about the area and the culture/customs of the people. She told us many things about different shops as we passed them along the way. The food was totally amazing and each food stop had a different feel. We started off with sushi, standing up at in a small restaurant and then onto a bowl of ramen in a more street side location. Other stops included a Japanese pancake, chicken wings, gyoza and then a delicious sweet as dessert. Saika thank you for a fabulous night of food and memories. I can’t recommend this highly enough

Foodie Delight - We went to a variety of restaurants, which were all different and good. Our guide, Jane, was excellent. She explained the historical significance of the food and the restaurant. I would highly recommend.

Great experience - Our tour guide Jane was fantastic. Best sushi in town and Ramen was fantastic. We would not have found these places on our own. We learned some of the history as well as eating delicious food and having a great time. Thank you Jane!!

Excellent Food Tour - Jane was a great guide. Excellent English speaking guide who had really good stories to tell about the area. Delicious food choices as well. Loved the Ramen and the Standing Sushi Restaurant. Loved all the food options. Only recommendation is that there were 3 or 4 other food tours going on at the same time and we had to wait for a bit at a few places b/c the shops were too small for all of us. Recommend that you stagger the groups so we aren’t all at the same places at the same time.

Jane is an incredible guide!! - The tour was excellent! Highly recommended. Went with my 15 year old foodie daughter and she loved it. Our tour guide Jane was so lovely and knowledgeable. She really was very thoughtful about each restaurant and the items she ordered. She told us about Japanese customs and cuisine. So enjoyable. Thank you for making our trip memorable! Amy& Izzy

Amazing Experience - This was one of our groups favorite things we did while in Japan. We were surprised at getting some more cultural history of the Shibuya area prior to and during the food tour. We lucked out and were able to have two fabulous tour guides so it was extra special to have more insight from people who are not native to Japan but are passionate about the country and food. We were sad we didn't have enough time in Tokyo to have another tour as we definitely wanted to do another one!

Great introduction to delicious local street food! - Our food guide Vanessa introduced us to some wonderful street food while touring around Shibuya. We enjoyed local sushi, Tonkotsu ramen, Yamachan chicken wings (yummy!) and okonomiyaki (a delicious layered pancake concoction). We totally enjoyed our experience and will do it again next time we are in Tokyo!
