Manga Do offers a unique experience for those eager to dive into the world of Japanese manga and anime culture. You’ll be guided by a seasoned manga artist with over 20 years of experience, utilizing traditional techniques that have been refined over the last century, enabling you to create your own manga. Participants will follow the same steps as professional manga artists: brainstorming, rough sketching, drafting, inking, filling in solid blacks, applying screen tones, and adding speech bubbles.
Don’t worry if you’re not confident in your drawing abilities. With the guidance of a manga artist, your concerns will fade away. In fact, many who shared the same worries have produced high-quality manga in just two hours.
*The minimum number of participants is 2. The fee for a single participant is the same as for two people.

A must do experience! - The Manga Drawing experience has been the most engaging actiivity we have done in Japan as a family. You absolutely do not need to be an artist to leave with your own amazing finished product thank to the help of Masa and his artists. The process of creating manga is extremely interesting and it was enjoyable to engage with true manga artists. You get to pick what you want to draw. My son, who is 10 y.o., drew a character from My Hero Academia while my wife used turned a family picture into mange style art. We left with our drawings and we were so inspired by our wonderful experience that we purchased a drawing set and a drawing of one of the artists. Masa and his team are very friendly, nice and passionate about sharing the manga culture. Go for it and you will have a lot of fun!

Unforgettable Manga Experience - Absolutely a fantastic experience learning how to draw Manga characters with Master Shinjo. The team was extremely professional, patient and helpful. This is a truly memorable experience whether you are a Manga/Anime fan or not. Communication with the coordinator, Masa, was clear and consistent. I highly suggest this unforgettable experience! Get their early and check out the neighborhood as well!

Great snapshot of our time in Tokyo - Such a fun experience! Chie Sensei and Masa were great. We had a small scheduling snafu with them but Masa arranged a different time that fit our schedule. It was the highlight of the trip for our 9 year old daughter. Though, 9 is about as young as you’d go for this class. The techniques require some care and patience, but thankfully the teachers helped out.

So fun, don’t miss it - Unique and wonderful experience. Got step by step instructions to make our own personalized masks. All were different and all were master pieces. So fun. Can’t wait for our fired masks to arrive home!!

Make your own Manga! - Didn’t know what to expect and had so much fun. Just enough support to be successful but not so much that we didn’t feel it was our creation. All ended up super happy with our unique manga drawing. Thank you!! Highly recommend it for the whole family!!

Happy time drawing pets - Instructors were friendly and encouraging. We were able to learn about the illustration process and tools without needing to do the initial sketches or composition layouts.
Instructors also had good suggestions for places to buy more tools after class as well as where else to visit in the city.

A must for anime / manga fans - Fantastic experience! As manga fans this was an amazing opportunity to not only see an artist in person but to also get to know the process of the drawing.

Learn to Make Manga for Everyone!! - This class is for people who enjoy manga, art, and being creative. The instructors are well knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. I took the class with my daughter, and despite our different skill levels we both learned something new and enjoyed the experience. They were able to assess my skill level and made really good suggestions to improve my original sketch and expand on the storytelling aspect of manga. Working with professional Mangaka made the atmosphere in the room motivating, engaging, and exciting. If I make it back to Tokyo again, I would take the class again.
