Day 1 - Journey through BakuOur day starts with a visit to Gobustan. The wonders of Gobustan are split into two categories: 1) Rock art and 2) Antique sites and other structures. Relics from the Stone Age, along with other periods - engravings, human settlements, grave markers and other sketches have been discovered at three sites on a rocky plateau. Evidence of caves once inhabited found here, as well as remnants of settlements and graves, suggest that from the Upper Paleolithic to the Middle Ages, this was a heavily populated area.
After exploring Gobustan, we proceed to experience Baku city. The next stop will be Icheri sheher, also known as the old city.
Day 2 - The Apsheron peninsulaOur journey today commences with a trip to Ateshgah. The current structures of the temple hail from the XVII century. However, much older artefacts have been uncovered through excavation. The pentagonal complex features an open courtyard with a central temple-altar, a site of pilgrimage for devotees.
