Moments of grace in a ceremonial tea experience - Meticulously curated, profoundly serene, and brimming with meaning—this tea ceremony in Tokyo comes with my highest recommendation. It’s an experience that lingers in your senses long after the last drop of matcha has been savored. The hosts warmth and patience turn it into a genuine cultural immersion rather than a mere performance. As a lovely final touch, they offer an optional professional photo session: a skilled photographer captures you in the serene setting and outside of it, in full kimono regalia, with each ritual movement frozen in time. I highly recommend adding this to your booking—not only will you leave with unforgettable memories, but you’ll also receive exquisite portraits that beautifully encapsulate the grace and tranquility of the experience.

Journey into Japanese Culture – Highly Recommend! - The staff were super kind and thoughtful, and made the whole experience feel really special. We learned so much—not just about how to wear a kimono and make matcha, but also about Japanese customs and Zen teachings that reminded us to slow down and be present. It was peaceful, fun, and gave us a whole new appreciation for Japanese culture.

The three ladies that... - The three ladies that hosted us for the tea ceremony were very inviting and friendly. Being dressed in the traditional kimonos was a great experience.. We visited a shrine We worked out how to pray and respect the shrine. Went back to the teahouse and had a wonderful experience watching the tradition of the Tea Ceremony. It felt like an honor to experience

Fantastic experience! - We had a fantastic time at the traditional Japanese tea ceremony with Sayoko and her team. From the start, Sayoko was incredibly patient and attentive during the kimono selection, ensuring we felt comfortable and confident in our choices. She also went above and beyond by including a shrine tour before the ceremony, which added a beautiful cultural layer to the experience. Hair and makeup were done with great care, and the photographer perfectly captured the essence of the moment. This was truly a memorable and enriching experience—highly recommend!

Please add this to your itinerary because it’s a great experience - This was so amazing and wonderful. Sayoko was in contact with me to give me the options for the dress as soon as I booked so everything was seamless the day of. I didn’t know how intricate the dress is and how classic and beautiful the design feels. This was also the best matcha I have ever had in my whole life. You get to see a tea ceremony with education and explanation of everything going on. After, you get to try to participate in the tea ceremony yourself which is harder than it looks. I highly recommend this activity. It’s only a few minutes walk from a train station and the pictures were beautiful. I wish I could do it again!

Highly recommend! - This was such an amazing experience! My daughter and I wanted to fully embrace the traditional Japanese culture while visiting Tokyo and this was the best way! Wearing a Kimono, going to a shrine, and a traditional tea ceremony. Sayoko is so sweet and kind. It was truly the highlight of our trip! She was amazing with communication from day one! She even helped us work around the time frame we had available. We opted for the added on hair styling option, which I would highly suggest. We felt beautiful all day after our morning adventure!
