Matcha and Kimono experience with Komei - Our encounter with Komei-san during his matcha tea ceremony and kimono experience was simply enchanting. Komei-san's passion for matcha and Japanese culture shone through every moment of our time together. From the outset, Komei-san was attentive and patient as he guided us through the selection and fitting of our kimonos, ensuring each of us felt comfortable and elegant in our attire. He captured our family's joyous moments with skillful photographs, adding to the cherished memories of our visit. During the matcha tea ceremony, Komei-san's expertise and passion was evident as he demonstrated the traditional art of making matcha with grace and precision. His explanations of Japanese teas, along with the intricacies of tea ceremony etiquette, were insightful and easy to understand, even for newcomers. What set this experience apart from other experiences we've had in the past was Komei-san's dedication to sharing the deeper philosophy behind the tea ceremony and matcha, offering us a profound understanding of its cultural significance. The hands-on experience of preparing matcha was engaging and educational, thanks to Komei-san's fluent English and willingness to address our inquiries with patience and clarity. We left this tea ceremony and kimono experience with a newfound appreciation for Japanese customs and etiquette (which happily, we were able to use later in our trip)! If you're visiting Japan and seeking an authentic cultural immersion led by a knowledgeable and personable host, look no further than Komei-san. We wholeheartedly recommend this experience—it's a true gem in the heart of Japan.

The Highlight of our Japan trip! - The highlight of our trip, we had a wonderful time with Komei learning about the rich history of matcha, trying out the kimonos, and learning how to properly whisk our matcha like a pro. Komei is very friendly, extremely fluent in English (he studied in the US), and super approachable to answer any questions we had about the ceremonial process and the different types of matcha in Japan. We highly recommend anyone even remotely interested in Matcha and Japanese culture to attend this experience!

Passion, history and enjoyment with kimonos and matcha - For me, this was one of the most interesting experiences in Japan. I was surprised by the little history lesson, where I was able to learn a lot more than I expected. The guide/teacher is an excellent example of how passion for a subject can be really contagious. It's just fun to listen to him and learn some beautiful aspects of Japanese culture from him that you wouldn't otherwise "just stumble across". He is also developing his own type of matcha, which I'm excited to see when it becomes available in the future. If you're interested in tea, matcha or kimonos, it's definitely worth it.

Great experience! - I definitely recommend it. We heard the captivating story of the origins of the matcha ceremony in Japan. Then we prepared it ourselves. The great time was complemented by listening to the entire lecture in kimonos. A very interesting experience.

Interesting and useful tea workshop - It was very warm atmosphere during whole workshop. We have known a bit about tea and kimono history. Had chance to wear casual kimono and learned how to do it properly. Now I know what the difference between green tea and nachts and how to brew matcha appropriately, and also how to choose good matcha. It was really useful and interesting workshop!
