Well-worth the cost of admission - A day jam packed with activities mixed with entertainment from your guide. Happy-chan made sure there wasn't a dull moment and kept the show moving along!

Great trip - Really great trip and had a lot of fun. A great opportunity to see Mount Fuji and experience coming back to Tokyo on the Bullet Train.

My Fuji. Trip - Seeing the magnificent Mt Fuji was wonderful I have a suggestion use the train as the transportation to the Mountain not as transportation home. We were in a 2:30hr traffic jam for our journey which cut everything short for our day

Good priced tour for a quick one day trip to Mt Fuji and Hakone! - Sakura, our tour guide, was amazing! She was funny and very caring! Did an amazing job with her stories and kept us entertained during the ride! There isn't a lot of time spent at each location. We definitely needed more time at Hakone and the Gondola stop. Thank you Sakura and team.

Great tour with lots of stops - The tour guides were very professional and friendly. Excellent collection of stops to see. We loved seeing Mt. Fuji without a lot of walking. It was a Japanese holiday, so there was a lot of traffic, but the bullet train tickets were for any time, so everything worked out.

20mins at Fuji for a whole days of travel! - This is a Mount Fuji tour and we spent the whole day on this tour for only 20mins at Mount Fuji - the planning of this trip is all wrong. Very friendly and helpful guides.

Shambles!!! - What a shambles and a complete waste of a day in Tokyo. The guide could barely be understood. The tour landed on a Japanese Bank Holiday so we were told to expect delays - the tour started an hour earlier at 7.30. The guide stopped for a toilet break 25 minutes before we arrived at the 5th station. The break took 15 minutes. The traffic was heavy. When we arrived at the 5th station the guide wasted 10 minutes of the 30 minutes allowed at the stop to take us in to the store to show us where to get a free bell ie the type of bell you would hang around a cats collar and to again show us where the toilets were. If he had told us what we were going into the store for I would not have followed - but then he couldn't be understood so maybe he did. He told us the meeting point and we were all there on time - one passenger decided to go back to the coach early which of course he shouldn't have done which resulted in us standing at the meeting point for 20 minutes before the guide left and discovered this was where the missing passenger was. The guide at the beginning of the tour did make himself understood regarding the fact if we weren't back on time the coach would leave without us - if only he practised what he preached he would have found the missing passenger. So basically we had 20 minutes to look at Mt Fuji and 30 minutes waisted time. We then had the lunch stop - the food was nice but it was rushed. We were then taken to the ropeway to find the queue too long for us to join so we were advised to go straight to the 20 minute boat ride - surely a phone call to the ropeway station should have been made by the guide due to the circumstances of it being a BH so that we were not taken there at all and taken to some alternate place to view as is stated in the advertisement for the trip. At the boat station we were at the front of the queue for the boat but were held back by the guide for him to give a long explanation at where to get off giving us the name of the stop - all he had to do was say get off at the first stop. He could have told us all this on the coach. By the time we got on the boat all the best viewing spots had been taken. The final insult was the bullitt train ride which the whole coach had opted for. The guide was saying something that nobody could understand about the tickets. I suspect in hindsight it was the fact that you had to be on a specific coach. The whole coach load of passengers got on the first coach that stopped in front of us and sat in empty seats. The train guards then came along and made us all stand in the corridor stating we had standing tickets - looking at the tickets I don't believe this was the case we just weren't given the correct information - or did the company buy us standing in a corridor tickets? One thing for sure the guards on the train were totally unhelpful if indeed there were seats in another carriage for us. There were only 18 people on the coach - the guide would only have had to visit 9 seats to ensure we all knew how to board the train but he didn't bother. At one point during the trip he told some passengers he was in training! In summary: The guide was totally inept and inexperienced by his own admission. His grasp of the English language was very poor - how the company HIS .co can justify putting him in charge of a coach full of English speaking passengers on a very busy day in the Japanese calendar belies belief. We only saw 2 of the 4 sites on the tour. The bullitt train ride was a total disappointment which could easily have been avoided if the guide had made sure we understood the boarding procedures - he had plenty of time. A small refund of £22 per person was issued to the passengers and I complained to Viator who are satisfied that this is sufficient under the circumstances that we missed 2 stops. So I paid £100 per person for this appallingly handled trip. I did request the contact details for HIS co as I cannot find any online but this request remains unanswered. I know many tourists will want to see Mount Fuji on their trip to Japan - I suggest you use a different company.

They don't wait for... - They don't wait for people who are late. There were at least 15 people whom missed the tour. The meeting point is almost impossible to find

Horrible - This excursion was a complete nightmare. We have gone on countless excursions throughout the years in many different countries and this one was definitely the worst by far. This is why I would like to warn others about it and will provide details to illustrate what happened. First of all, it was next to impossible to understand our guide, he should have never been assigned to an English speaking tour. Secondly, the tour was completely disorganized. We did know that it was a holiday weekend and the traffic was expected, so we were glad that the tour started an hour earlier to beat it. However, spending the whole day on the bus with two short stops, one of which was a bathroom stop and the other 30 minutes on the mountain Fuji where all we could see was just several souvenir shops was quite disappointing. However, since it was my second time visiting Hakone, I knew that the best part was still ahead. We were scheduled to take Hakone Roapway which leads to a breathtaking Owakudani area with volcanic steam vents, black eggs and so on. Imagine our shock when our guide decided to skip the Roapway altogether because we had a 15 minute delay due to someone getting sick on the bus. We complained but the guide said he decided that we should go straight to the lake boat ride as it was getting late. The boat ride was fine but absolutely was not worth wasting the whole day on the bus for. A final straw was our guide dropping us off at the train station after unsuccessfully trying to explain which train to take. The guide was rushing to get rid of us and sounded quite unpleasant when we tried to clarify where to go. Fortunately several of us got together and figured out what to do on our own. Finally I would like to thank Viator which promptly responded to our complaint and even partially reimbursed us for this trip. However, local HIS tour company did not bother to even respond to our complaint. Do not waste your time and money on this trip.

Don’t waste your time or money! - Extremely disappointed with this tour. Left early as suggested. A whole day on a bus and we got to spend 20 min at the 5th station; missed two of the other stops on the itinerary; not a single bottle of water offered; a full English speaking tour and while a gentlemen, poor choice of guide for this group. To be fair, lunch was very good. Have seen the many “apologies for the inconvenience” responses on the online reviews. Not good enough and I don’t want to receive one if these. Does not deliver anything near what is promised. Could write a whole page on what a waste of time and money this was. Not good enough.
