A Journey Through Shimizu’s Hidden Gems

As I embarked on the Step-Free Shimizu Port Tour, I was filled with anticipation. Shizuoka, with its rich cultural tapestry and breathtaking landscapes, has always been a place of intrigue for me. The tour promised a unique experience, and it delivered in ways I hadn’t imagined.

Our guide, Hiroko, was a beacon of knowledge and warmth. Her deep connection to the area was evident as she shared stories and insights that brought each location to life. The tour began at the Nihondaira Plateau, where the view of Mount Fuji over the lush green tea fields was nothing short of spectacular. The Miho no Matsubara Culture & Creativity Center offered a fascinating glimpse into the area’s history and the legendary Hagoromo tale. Even though the weather was not ideal for viewing Mount Fuji, the center’s engaging exhibits ensured that our experience was rich and fulfilling.

As we concluded our tour, I reflected on the day’s journey.
